IMO, what he did against Ghana, could not be termed as cheating. I mean, those were instincts, and it's not like he got away with that. Maybe it was wrong, but it's definitely less bad than diving. He got sent off for that, and penalty was awarded. What else do you expect? Diving is worse IMO. The ref awards a penalty and red cards the opponent instead most of the times. SO how come Suarez's handball against Ghana is worse?
AFAIK, even scholes has done that in a game right? Just because it's Suarez it gets noticed more often than not. The dailies are even claiming that he celebrated showing his hands. Little do they know he does that in all the games. What should he do then next time, kiss his feet when he scores with it?
If a defender would never tell the referee that he handled the ball, why on Earth should Suarez do that? And which footballer would have gone and told the ref that he handled the ball? It wasn't deliberate as well. The ref allowed the play to continue and he obliged. Even Henry had a goal in World cup qualifiers, which by the way was deliberate.

I agree that he is perhaps the best player in the world right now. But for me. Ronaldo has done more than Messi. He has proved his mettle in both Spain and England. At times playing with mediocre players behind him - mediocre compared to Xavi and Iniesta.
From a football purist's viewpoint, I'd like Messi to move to another club and then prove to everyone that he is the best player in the world without the support of the Barca system. Much like Maradona did at Napoli.
Ronaldo is better than Messi. This is a statement which is not up for an argument.
Look at the kind of things Ronaldo has done, for the teams has played, and the support Messi has compared to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is a proven performer playing in different environments. Put Messi in Chelsea or Arsenal.

exactly the support structure messi gets is no where close what CR7 gets for him.. Personally I believe both are good players but the Ballon should not be awarded solely on the number of goals .. had this been the case then probably Zidane and Canavaro should not have been awarded the ballon as well.
P.S I am not saying Messi did not deserve it but then the Ballon should be awarded considering multiple factors.
@Omkarp ronaldo choked several times in critical condition, where his team needed him to play, yaah its true many great player did that, even lampard even beckham. but if u consider this thing, then messi has proven every time his majesty, when he was needed by his team.

That may have happened with Messi too. Also, this part proves that Messi on his own cannot do squat. Also, Messi has a horrible record for Argentina. Look at CR7's record for Portugal...It is not even as major a footballing nation as Argentina is and he brings them till the Semis and Quarters single-handedly.
CR7 should come back to United for his own good. He doesn't belong at Madrid. With united he will win the Balon d'Or, that I am sure of.

I haven't watched Beckenbaur, but Zidane much much much better than these two. I think even Ronaldinho at his peak was better than these two.
@Omkarp if u put compare all these player of this time, and the parameter is national team performance and winning matches with own effort n do wonders with ball, then i must say, zidane is the god damn best, just watch his 360degree turn, nobody can do like that. one one more player deserves more attention is Arjen Robben of Bayern M獯nchen !!!!

I think comparing players on one parameter or the other is really not the good measuring criteria..the thing was as simple..even how much support one can get..91 goals is no child play in a year and 4 Ballon d'or is absolutely fantastic( which can easily be 7-8!!! ballon d'or till he takes retirement)..Besides awards and stats, i value entertainment and both ronaldo and messi are equally capable in delivering the same..Though i also like zidane more( due to his feat in wc's) but i am in no position to say whether he is better than ronaldo/messi..Remember RM at that time got the world best line up on planet with beckham,figo,carlos,raul,ronaldo along with zidane..yet raul( one of my past favourite players doesnt have such scoring knack)..and if i share cricket analogy..Lara at his peak was considered better than ponting/tendulkar..But the fact remains that reaching the peak was few and far between..these two players have been successful enough to maintain their peak upto now..
