Modric was hardly unproven.....he was a big star at Zagreb and Spurs had to beat a lot of sides to get his signature.....the price for his move will also be determined by the player himself regd. how far is he willing to go to force the move or just happy with whatever the club decides.....but 35million is too high....there are players of similar pedigree available for similar price....read Pastore,Sahin,Marin etc..

Spurs even beat Man Utd to get him from Zagreb.. At 35 M Modric with 25 yrs of age he is worth every penny..!!
Xavi is 31 when he is on the peak of his game since last 2 yrs..!! he ws always very good but exceptional in last 2-3 yrs..!!

Marko Marin plays on wings and hasnt been good this season..!! Pastore is more of an AM where as Modric is a complete CM who tackles , breaks the opp play and also has a vision to pass the ball for an attack.. he is more a link up bw defence and attack.. Perfect for Man Utd and also suit our style of play..
Now since he has played 2 and a half season with Spurs so he has got adapted to EPL..!!

I said he was unproven at the highest level. Surely you don't believe succeeding at Zagreb is a proof of that. He is too much of a professional to demand a move at this stage and he is on a long term contract. 35 million is not high at all for his abilities. Have to laugh at the thought of Pastore moving for less than that, like Shaun said Marin does not play the same position even and Sahin has already signed for Madrid ,so it's not like United can sign him instead.

Arsene Wenger is still the right man to lead to Arsenal..!! They have made the most imp signing for this transfer crazy summer for me in convincing Pat Rice to stay on for 1 more yr as an Assistant to Wenger who has been with him since a long time..!!
Wilshere and Ramsey need the influence of Pat Rice to establish themselves more for next season and also for Arsenal in terms of making a few signings which can add quality to the side(Not necessarily big fee signings)
