Hello Leolazer
You mentioned Om as one of the suppliers. In which city are they located? Do you have their address? What was the cost of the level 2 Schweser material?
Thanks
SL
Om is located in mumbai, I have their number - 9833591215, 9833851455 - you can get the address from them.
I don't remember the exact cost, but it is quite affordable.

Schweser notes are available for 2012 at Mahakali Mumbai...does anyone have the soft copies of the notes for 2012...I have the notes for 2011 and just want to chk the changes...thx
from where can i get a financial calculator which would be required for frm in bangalore???
The changes between the 2011 and 2012 FRM syllabus is published by GARP clearly (There is generally 20-25% new addition year on year). You can check it on the GARP site... the link is available in my previous posts.
Schweser material generally does not vary much if the LOs are same. However, you might have to search the net / wait for them to be freely available to do a comparison.
My advice is to purchase the Schweser 2012 notes from one of the providers. The cost is not so high. Your time is much more precious since you will be sacrificing preparation time. Anyways you will definitely need the Schweser chapters for the new 20-25% additions / changes.

First of all it is important to understand the current finance scenario in India.
1) There is very less hiring by MNC's (especially Investment Banks), so there is limited opportunities to enter these organisations. Even NBFC's are not hiring right now. Indian Commercial Banks (like ICICI, Axis) are hiring but the number of offers have reduced drastically. Overall the finance sector hiring is down and is largely dependent on the world economy growth, so if in next financial year the economy is good then hiring will see some sunshine. One thing to note most of the openings for Risk Management profiles are in Commercial Banks and IB's.
Analysis) Although market is not good right now, which I think is a temporary phase, will definitely get better in future. So if you are looking for profiles in risk management then you should go with FRM. I would suggest clear Level I, show it on your resume, get the job and then clear level II (if one is a fresher), because within 5 years after clearing Level II one needs to show 2 years work-ex in Risk Management to get the degree.
2) Now comes the part of Work-Ex. According to my experience in job search unless and until one has work-ex there is very less chance of getting a risk management profile. There are openings but approx 99% of them require prior work-ex. So getting a desired profile for a fresher is very difficult in India. But having cleared FRM one has a good knowledge of Risk Management and this will give him confidence and added advantage.
Analysis) Most of the Risk Management openings require work-ex in related fields. So having a work-ex is an added advantage and if one is a fresher then he will have to work hard to look for the desired profile. Clearing FRM will definitely give a boost to your resume provided you want job in Risk Management.
Overall I would say definitely go for FRM if one is looking for profiles related to Risk Management be a fresher or work-ex. But one thing to note- clearing FRM doesn't assure of getting a job. For freshers finding Risk Management openings is difficult but given an opportunity, mentioning FRM on resume will give added advantage.
I think Leolaser and Mygos can give a much better insight to this question.

Z values relevant to the question are given in the question paper so no need to memorize.
Hi,
I have read the Schweser but when I try to solve the question paper, I am finding the level to be much higher than what I expected while I was reading the material.
Is their any other material you would recommend which would help me cope with the difficulty level of question papers? Or do you think I should go back and read schweser again.
Please give some tips for me to be exam ready. I will not have much time after march to put in for FRM apart from weekends.
Thanks.
