CFA : Investment banking , equity research , valuations and all profiles 1 can think of in finance.
FRM : Risk mgmt. , Treasury Mgmt. , Forex Mgmt, Derivatives.
Simplifying it even further
CFA : Investment banks + share markets
FRM : Commercial banks.
In general, CFA will be a big addition for ANY finance profile.

Puys, I am currently working with an analytics firm but willing to change my work domain to risk management domain or in analysis team of a credit agency or derivative research. I am rigorously studying for FRM both the levels.
As I have no relevant experience I am really worried about my employment scope. I have researched about career benefits and have been through GARP website. I came across the recruiters list on GARP website. I withdraw 45k monthly and and as I am changing my work domain, I am scared that I might have to compromise on my compensation. I am very keen to change my work profile but due to some reason I cannot take a major salary cut.
I know most of us are reluctant to discuss compensations but I want to prepare myself and keep my expectations on ground. Senior puys please help me with pay package range that i can expect.

I just received the Exam Wise newsletter from GARP and there was a link to download the Free Practice Exam. However, when I clicked on the download link, it opened the GARP website and asked for selecting the particular exam into the cart. When I checked my cart, the exam price was being shown as $100!! ..So, is there some other way to download the practice exam? and how about downloading 2011 exam for practicing as the curriculum is not that different in 2012...?

You would need to download the locklizard software from the GDL website and install it on your PC. The license file would have been sent to you by mail.

Please take care of the following
- You should install the software only on a PC where you can connect a printer (if you intend to take prints).
- The number of prints are limited (2?) - so take complete print at one go.
- In case you decide to install it on a office PC, check with the network admin first if the proxy would allow pass through of the locklizard verification. Else you may end up not being able to print.

I am giving FRM part I this may. Recently received email from GARP about FRM practice exams which are freely available on GARP site for registered candidates. I tried downloaded it but its locked by software 'LockLizard'...and im not finding way to unlock it. I even contacted GARP but their help has not been of any help...
So in case u have used these papers during ur time can u help me with how to unlock these pdf files?

Om saying notes will be available in March.:wow::banghead:
A suggestion - since Schweser does not change their material for the topics that are same from previous year (esp where the LOs are also same)... you can very well rely on Schweser 2011 for the topics that are same from last year.
These are generally same word for word.
To check the topics that are same / changed from last year - refer to my earlier post on this topic.
