If your read it carefully, it actually says, that, to be a FRM charterholder, i.e., to take FRM L2, you need to have that work exp IFF you have not cleared L1 You are eligible to take FRM L1
If your read it carefully, it actually says, that, to be a FRM charterholder, i.e., to take FRM L3, you need to have that work exp IFF you have not cleared L1 and L2.You are eligible to take FRM L1

To be called a FRM Charterholder one needs to complete both levels + have 2 years of relevant work-ex
Hi guys, I'm a financial analyst. Very badly looking for a change. Want to get into more on risk management. Will GARP certification help me do that? I am looking more at Credit Risk Management or currency management in banks. I wanted to know if my experience as an analyst will weigh me down. I'm confused about the same. Will I be able to make an effective switch when certified or have to live with analysis and related profiles?

2009 edition is good enough as that was the year when the FRM exam was split into two levels... so from a syllabus point of view, the notes should suffice. However, both Schweser and Bionic Turtle would update their notes each year with additional questions and also questions from the recent FRM exams.. Make sure that you can get your hands on these from some where... Registering for the exam itself gives u access to some sample papers on GARP.
All the best
Thanx Scorpion King..
Need your help in coming up[ with an approach to go abt preparing for the exams.. should i begin with the handbook & then hit schweser/bt.. I also hv core readings as well.. Wat wud u suggest.. whr shud i begin with..
Can anyone please post FRM practice exams (GARP ones). There is some problem when I download those files from internet. Locklizard just doesnt open the .pdc files. It says some error about the license file.
Would really appreciate if some can post sample practice exams GARP ones or otherwise too.
thanks for that bro ;).. i thought sirf meri phati padee hai. the garp questions are a bit too tough. anyways i have tried covering everything from schweser but.... all the best!!

Hey Puys, please share your experience of November 2010 FRM exam??
I appeared for Level 1, i completed the paper just in time.. cracked the easy ones straight away, some went tangential and some were asymptotic (went way over my head)! now I really dont know, what to expect in the result.. some of my friends found it very difficult, one guy found is easy 😐 .. it wasnt easy for me for sure! 😛
Its difficult to say anything. I have salved questions which were looking easy but not sure about the answer. There were questions the like swaps for which I could be sure. But they were very lengthy and time consuming so I could work on them. so in the end it was feeling that I should have salved those questions, at least I could be sure to some extent.
Dear All.. I am currently working for an infrastructure company, predominantly onto PPP projects, so there is a lot of project finance involved.
I want to do some certification..just as a value add.. not able to decide between FRM and CFA... could any one throw some light on... which one would be better.. specific to project finance.. also in general...
cfa would be good.it has corporate finance as one of the subjects, besides financial reporting analysis. frm is predominantly capital markets, banking and risk management.no corp fin involved.
