Apart from FRM, what do you puys think of institute of risk management's certificate and diploma courses in risk management. These courses are quite renowned and popular among risk management professionals all over the world.so if one is really interested in making a career out of risk management shouldn't he be going for them too simultaneously even though their fees is quite high compared to what we will be paying for FRM.
sc@rf@ce Says:banghead: so?
well FYI, I cleared L1

quartiles
2,2,2,1
:drinking:
cleared L1. 2,1,1,2
I didn't get it though. I had really no expectations since on many questions, I had no clue. I also missed several questions in the end.
Oh well, am so relieved. All the best to those who still need to check.
Hello! I just went through the GARP website. I was not able to figure out their rule for eligibility on taking the FRA. I was thinking about taking the FRA in my 4th year of engineering. I came across this line "A minimum of two years professional full-time work experience". Now is it the eligibility criterion for certification or for taking the exam itself?

It is the criteria for getting the final certification and not for enrolling and giving the exam. However, I am not sure whether they allow giving FRM at undergraduate level or not.
I also cleared L1 with 1,2,1,1
But I have no idea how I managed this one. I wasn't sure about it at all! Who cares?
Congrats to all those who cleared...
YES! You can appear for FRM Part I and II during your undergraduate studies but for final certification you must have 2 years of professional experience. You can get your experience after clearing both parts.
Right now I'm doing my final year of engineering and cleared Part I in Nov'2010. Now planning to go for Part II in May'11.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hi guys I have a query. Can I register for both levels now and later defer only level II to November ?
Thanks.
puys, my job title was not among those listed in the frm site so i wrote a mail on the frm id and after giving my job description they said that my job is eligible for frm but as i have only 1 years of work ex, i need to continue working here for atleast 1more year to be eligible for frm.So when i complete my frm what would i need to give them as a proof cause as my work ex is not among those listed, would i need to give them an explaination again, regarding my work ex and what if at that time they say that i am not eligible?
please answer my querry as am quite skeptical about this issue........
FRM Core readings, Schweser and Handbook by Philippe Jorion is available at Laxmi, Mumbai.

Hey Dhaval ,
Any idea about the cost of these materials Core reading FRM material available with Laxmi xerox
Hi, I am writing FRM Part 2 in May 2011. I reside in Mumbai. I would be grateful if anybody could share FRM part 2 material by Pristine or bionic turtle.
Thanx
I made the payment for L1 exam (May 2011) through credit card on 31st January. I received an "FRM Registration Payment" mail shortly afterwards confirming the payment and mentioning other details (GARP ID,FRM Invoice, test centre etc). However I was not prompted for my "Mastercard SecureCode" (which normally happens when i do online transaction through my credit card)) while making the online payment. I had just filled in details like Name on the card, Credit Card Number, CVV number and expiry date. Also I didnt get the customary SMS on my mobile about the transaction having taken place. So I am not sure whether the payment has actually been received on your side or not. Kindly confirm.

Hi Puys,
I have passed both parts of FRM in November 2010 and all the exams of PRM in December 2010.
In case you have any queries related to exams or in case you need any tips or how to prepare for the exams or where to get the material from or whatever, feel free to drop me a message.

The way it works is once you clear your both FRM part 1 and 2, you have to upload your CV inside your login on GARP website. They verify whether you have 2 years or relevant work experience and if you qualify their requirements, they grant you a certificate.I suppose (though not 100% sure) that they also consider the content of the job in addition to the designation. You may have to get verification from your company that your work is related to one of the areas of risk management, if GARP needs that.
You get 5 years to get certificate on passing FRM part 2.If that cannot be done in 5 years time, candidate has to retake FRM.
However as others have pointed out here, in case you have not appeared for exams yet because your work experience is less than 2 years, please note that there is no requirement of work experience for appearing for the exams. You can very well appear for the exams without any relevant work experience. But you cannot get certificate of FRM (nor you can claim that you are a FRM certified professional) unless you have 2 years of relevant work experience.I passed both FRM part 1 and 2 in November 2010 but I didn't have any relevant work experience at the time of exams.

Hi,
I will be taking admission this yr in MBA. I have already cleared CISA certification. Could you please advise me, which one of CFA or FRM will be better? What kind of job profiles can I expect?
