Visit bionic turtle website to know more abt these videos. I think schweser notes along with hand book and core readings are enough to crack the exam. But thats purely my opinion...!

Just want to ask you. do you think the Gujurati book is essential for the exam ?
I am just using Schweser notes. And that seems to suffice everything required for the exam.

I am doing quants from the core readings and therefore also wanted to solve the questions given at the end of the chapters. I think thats a wise approach as questions given in scheweser are very very easy. Even in the training sessions by pristine we are advised by the instructor to go through the core readings.

A well established study group has been formed at Hyderabad & people from other parts of India & even abroad are also contributing in Joint Studies.
A collabrative study means 1 difficult concept to digest & understand for 1 & many no of people coming forward for your help to make you understand.
Problems will be less & helpul people wil be more, so please come out of your hideouts, where every1 is studying on their own & lets assure each other that we all are definitely going to clear FRM this November.
I will be sharing you guys a common group also may be on facebook or orkut which will be moderated & only serious FRM preparatories will be allowed to join it.

I really don't know if my Bank will place me in Risk Management dept this soon ( Joined as PO recently ) So I need your valuable advice, I am interested in learning about Risk Management and want to make a career out of it. So working as a PO and doing this certification will be useful ? How am I supposed to get the 2 year exp in related field ?

It depends on heirarchy in ur bank and HR policies...i know of instances where person with Bcom and FRM is placed in Market Risk Department...
but generally for credit risk...banks opt for MBA/CA...

Can anybody please confirm the steps after registration for the exam. As in are we supposed to receive any material from GARP or anything hardcopy....which is the case with CFA. Or d we just have to download the admit card once it is available later on.

You can get 2010 Schweser notes in Delhi from Bharat Book Center at Ber Sarai... but the quality of material available is very poor in comparison with Laxmi Copy Center.. and also he will ask for 1000 bugs in starting that u need to bargain...

For FRM you will not be getting any material form Garp people, you will just be able to download syllabus and AIM readings... For buying core reading n etc you need to pay again.

Getting Core reading from GARP site looks very costly(in the range of Rs 20K). IS there a comparable( not watered down) study material available from sources other than GARP ??
