Hi All, Can you tell me if FRM will add any significant value to my CV. I am a B.Tech and currently working as a software analyst in an international bank. Also what all study materials should be followed?
Also, how is the overall difficulty of the exam for a person with no finance background?
Does anyone have the bionic turtle excel sheets containing models for different chapters. In the Bionic turtle videos, the presenter regularly refers to the spreadsheets that we can refer to have a better understanding. I ordered the material from Om Book Store, got the video, question bank but there are no excel sheets in the CD that I received? If someone has it please mail me at rajeev.a(at)aol.com. Thanks.

@D.P. As you have already got the FRM certification, I have one doubt. I am working as a credit manager in credit cards dept. Is my designation is considered for FRM work experience validation.
Also, I would like to know, how they will validate the work experience of the candidates.
A quick response is expected because I am planning to register for the exam within a few days!!!!

Hi I am thinking of writing the FRM exam but am not very confident in cracking it.. I am currently working and almost 12 hrs of day is spend in office... So I can only afford 4-5 hrs of study at max... I passed out of college 5 years back so am basically out of touch with study... I want to know which material will be best to practice for FRM... Where can I get the second hand notes of Kaplan or BT in market. Also any strategies to clear the exam... I am based in Delhi..
hello guyz I m taking the L1 exam in may 2014.i am engg/mba -finance background working as credit manager in bank in Jabalpur MP.I have few questions which might hav been answered in earlier posts..bt request all of u to suggest me on these please:
1)which is the best study material for L1(schweser or BT or any other) n where to get it?
2)I am about to start prep in a weeks time once I order the material. hw much time should I devote for FRM preparation considering that I am in a banks job (from Mon-Sat timings-9:30am to 7pm)..
3)wht r the future career opportunities once I complete FRM(both levels).I hav completed 1 year in credit profile and overall 5.5 years in banking industry..

I am planning to register for FRM and have some doubts regarding the same
1) I am stuck at exam registration where i am asked to fill in the organization and job profile. I am a student and dont have any work ex. But the form aint letting me to move forward with out filling these options.
2) What is the payment mechanism? Since the payment has to be made in dollars, should we get our domestic currency converted into dollars first?
Hello I had a small query regarding the registration procedure. I am a recent graduate and I am currently not working anywhere. While filling the form it is asking for Job details. What should I fill in this category.It wont let me go to the next stage unless I fill it. Can you guide through this process. Thanks in advance.
Early registrations closes tomm morning 9 AM IST(31st Jan, 23:59 EST). You can still register after tomm, but you'll be charged 125$ extra.

Guys, this OM Book Store guy is charging Rs. 2000 for bionic turtle notes and videos. I think that is expensive. I'm also talking to the Laxmi Xerox guy, but he doesn't seem to have the 2014 notes ready.
Please let me know if you have any alternatives.

I am an Engineering Student currently finishing my Graduation in May '14 (MIT, Manipal). I have applied for both parts of FRM and CFA L1. My preparation is going well. Considering I clear them, how would I go about applying for jobs as an analyst. Majority of the sites I visit while job hunting require an MBA Finance.
Obviously, I have zero experience and don't know where to start. Could you please tell me how I should go about this and/or if you know of an availability, please let me know.
