Hi Leo,
Thought of taking FRM Part II in November. However, I am left with just 45 days...and 80% of the syllabus (as I am going thru MBA in XLRI , finding it difficult to get time). Could you please opine whether it is a rational and realistic goal to go for the part II exam with 45 days left? How much efforts do I need to put in every day?
A Lot, if you do not have a background of RM. If you can do concentrated studies for the remaining time - atleast 4 hrs quality time, it is achievable. However, like I say, a lot depends on your background and your pickup rate.

Best Wishes.

Hi,
People who have already given part 1...
Wanted to know about the paper. Is it a test of our speed also? I mean, paper being 4 hours, is there sufficient time to think and answer, considering the difficulty level; or do we need to be real quick?
Also, what are the approx number of theory/non calculative questions we can expect?
Is giving mocks necessary after mastering the concepts for part 1?
No, the exam generally tests your understanding. Time is not a major factor. However, do not let that thought relax you since questions are phrased cautiously.

Hi I am a Business Intelligence Developer and Employed with a company that Prepares with the Risk Management softwares ....I have IT experience of 3.5 years including 1 year Risk management Reporting development experience... I am planning to do FRM to be a techno functional guy for that line of business ... I have few Questions :-
1) does my experience relevant
2) As i am frm IT background ... frm where i should start the preparation for May 2013 exam
3) Should i opt for both exam in single day or on diff dates (i am working and can devote 2 hr a day and 4-5 hr on weekends)
1) Already answered in PM
2) Quant would be the best start for you. It will give you confidence and the flow for the other things to follow.
3) P1 only, unless you can take the last 3-4 weeks off and devote yourself completely to FRM studies.

I am appearing for Part 1 on 17th Nov and have completed reading the Schweser books. I now plan to solve past 3-4 yr FRM papers...but unable to find them anywhere. GARP's site only provides the practice papers but not the actual past papers. Can anyone plz provide a link for them? If you have them and can mail to me, then plz PM me and I'll send you my mail id. Thanks!

Hi Leo,

I am using Schweser QB for level 2. Am I on the right track?
Anything in particular you think I should focus on?
Thanks!

I do not quite follow your question. Are you trying to ask about the syllabus - if yes, then you need to refer to the study guide. This link should give a good starting point

Let us know if you have more detailed questions after studying this.

Oh, so GARP practice papers look to be the best option. Do they closely mimic the Qs asked in the actual exam (in terms of level of difficulty & portion coverage)? In other words, if I am able to solve them comfortably, does it mean am reasonably well prepared for the exam?

Apart frm them, I plan to solve Schweser practice papers...anything else u wud suggest?
@leolazer
i was just asking the most important concepts that must be studied/covered for FRM part 1 exams.

Yes, GARP practice exams are good. Schweser ones are easier but good practice. In addition, get some question banks / BT questions to practice.

guys, can anyone tell me about job prospect after completing frm and does gaarp help in getting the job?&&&How; to know where job opening is available for frm qualification?

One of my seniors suggested eduleap for practice questions.. anyone tried the test series? Really unsure of my current learning.. havnt had much time.. and i cant continue to read anymore :(.. need to do mocks!
