I still dont think that Kaif is back in form and nor is he a great batsman ... Dhoni should definitely promoted up the order ahead of Raina and Kaif.
i totally compliment your views on kaif. i dont know why greg chappel has been keeping him in the side. first of all he is still not in the best of forms. add to that, i dont see any potential in his batting which can bear fruits in the future. agreed he is a gread athlete n fielder, but his batting does not really make him worthy of an indian cap.
now, all i hope is that he does not come up with a century in the next match.

WTF is Kaif doin in Indian Team i dont understand. Arre in 20 matches even a kiddo can make one 50. And looking at the strong Bench Strength with people like Venu Gopal Rao sitting and Kaif in...Man whats going on. Chappel certainly sees somethin in Kaif that he persisted with him for so long...but i dont think thats right. He shud be 12th man and shud be only brot in for fielding.

And bluffy u are missing kaif's match winning knocks..87* Natwest, 111* in Champions trophy, 90 odd against Pak in 4th odi in 2004....i know u cant be in the team on past records..but in NZ also he played well...

completely agree..kaif should be the permanent 12th man ...he is in the team just because of 1 nat west and good fielding... he has scored hardly any runs in 2006... why not play robin utthappa in the 11??

agreed venu has not looked that convincing so far. but he has hardly been given any chance to prove his mettle. on the other hand, kaif has been given far too many chances i feel. everyone can go for prolonged bad form, but in kaif i just dont foresee any great batting potential. although even sehwag is going thru a prolonged lean patch, most of us can see the talent he has. sooner than later he will again come good, therefore he can be persisted a little longer. but, kaif, i dont think has the talent necessary to be a good batsman. one or two innings here and there are hardly a yardstick for potential, whereas sehwag has so many past innings to be relied upon. if u say venu is scratchy, kaif is no different. he is being given far too many opportunities, that too at comforable batting positions.

Better to give chance to newcomers that waste a place and giv it to Kaif.
Actually I was waiting for Dravid to try Dhoni Open the Batting more often than not, He might actually perform well.
