Most people have a huge discomfort to join idbi, obviously if you have prepared hard and then getting into a private bank... It doesn't worth your labour. But till today govt's share is 76% in idbi, and it will go down upto 51%, according to idbi act. And in today's economy psu's shares are not going into a single person's hand, shares of individuals are very small in quantity. And if govt want to disinvest more than 49% then it has to be amended and before that first the share should go down to 51%. If idbi is going to be privatised then it will need minimum 10-15 years, and by this time you can be in such a position where there will be no fear of losing your job. Now, the another prospective of people who don't want to join idbi. It has a private bank work culture, where you have to do cross selling and better customer handling. Till today one of the major cause of avoiding private bank is people from middle and lower income group and people from semi urban and rural areas have a taboo that private banks will take their money away. But things are changing, people are being aware about financial services, today's private banks are more customer friendly. So if we the wannabe bankers don't change our mind setup , then the future of PSU will be either shutter down or being privatised. Anyway this is my personal view, but I think it has a valid demand for the change.
