Dear friends.... I got selected as PO in a private bank.... working there for one month... daily 9am to 10pm job with only 30minutes lunch... no other break....even on 2nd 4th Saturday they asking to come... posted other than my native state.... in this situation they asking to pass jaiib this year itself and asking to complete few other certificate courses also... co workers also not cooperating... they not teaching me anything instead they are putting me in trouble many times.... what can I do now...any suggestions please.... not happy after getting a job

Interview date - 9/2/17 Place - ubi hq, Kolkata Panel - 4 Time slot-8.30 am Background - b com hons, pgdb in banking and finance then mba in banking and finance, 2.8 years experience in Icici bank. Panel- usual 4 male members and 1 female member (she kept mute the whole time) Greeted the panel with a 'Namaskar' instead of good afternoon. Panel wished me back and asked me to take my seat. didn't ask a single question from banking or current affairs..maximum hr related questions. Started with 'are u a celebrity' I said no. Then they asked if i know one actress with a similar name as mime. (there is a bengali actress, so mentioned that). Q- do u watch her movies? Me-no, but i do watched some songs where she starred. Q) why did u leave your previous bank? Me- i was undergoing some domestic related issues but right now have reconciled and want to come. back to the banking industry again. Q) why don't u want to go back to i bank again? Me- i bank has a policy that ex employees cannot re join within a span of 6 years and if they do after that it will be on a lower grade. .Q) then why didn't u try other private banks?Me- sir, my husband is in a pvt bank so I wanted to join a psu, so that we will balance eachother out. Panel - Very good, you two will balance eachother, support eachother, you are very responsible! Q) Suppose u are in a branch amd its profit is falling, what can be the reason for that? Me- there can be various reasons, now a days almost all banks offer competitive rates, what makes them. different is customer service. If customer is unhappy they leave the bank and profitability falls. Q) U are a commerce grad, tell me the exact reason, how a bank earns profit? He was asking in a vague way so didn't get the drift as to what he was hinting. then finally answered 'banks earn profit from tje spread of deposits and loans' Panel member- yes that was the answer i am looking for- if spread is lowered branch incurs loss. Q) What does your husband do and where is he posted? Me- he is also in i bank, posted in Kolkata. Q) so can u relocate if u are posted else where? Me- yes, my husband and I have went through this and we are ok with it, for now I want to concentrate on my career. Q) suppose u are posted in Chattisgarh, will u go there? me- yes I am. Q) u are married and yet u still want to relocate? me- sir, I want to work out of my comfort zone. Q) why? Me-only then I can learn and grow my career. Panel went 'oohs, aahs, wows, great'. Q) tell me 2 qualities as to why we should hire u? Me- I am punctual and I am confident, amd have thw patience to be a successful banker. Q) all people have those, why u are special? I kept smiling, couldn't answer then one panel member helped me out 'you mentioned that quality just a while ago'.. Me, still cluless... kept on smiling. Panel. member- you said u are willing to work out of your comfort zone, that is the type of attitude and quality we are looking for in a po'... Interview eneded, they wished me. good luck. I expressed my gratitude to them and headed for the door. Suddenly one of the panel members asked from. behind- Koyel, are u from SPHS SCHOOL? i said yes sir. he said - I thought so(he was grinning and smiling) I wished them. a good day again and left. Me - Psu banks are for the mass, pvt banks are for the class, they do their 80% business from 20% creamy layered customers. Q) what do u mean by mass? Me- refers to all level of people, tbe weaker section, the middle class and the upper class.

Hey puys 1 query regarding Ibps rrb exam..In Ibps po exam on 1st april each selected candidated will be alloted 1 bank...Will the same thing happens for rrb po exam also for selected candidate or they will get the consolidated marks and have to apply for different rrbs separatly?

Me: Was confused a bit at first but then answered convincingly. *M3 nodding his head with a smile*

It was going great until this point.
M4: Why are you not interested in private sector jobs ?
M4:What can a public bank job give you that private sector can't?
Me: Tried to explain but he didn't seemed satisfied with my answer and started lots of cross-questioning.

M4: RBI was in the news yesterday ,why ?

Done with the interview in UCO Bank Bhubaneswar... Panel was very friendly but I did some blunders like I said my previous job was a low profile job so I left that... On this they said u never say such things about ur job profile... I apologized... Rest questions asked were GST, tax classification, how npa's are affecting the profitability of banks, contingent liabilities, and my views on demonetisation... Overall it was gud except that job related things and some wrong guesses... Otherwise I replies to most of there answers correctly... What are ur views guys?
