Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from ICFAI_Hyderabad

hi, i am sku.

i have got a call from Genpact. i am through with the interview. I have been told that there is 2 months US training and a 2 year agreement to be signed. Also, i would like to know what is the work pressure, as in shifts and culture at Genpact. Please reply asap. I have been informed of putting in Treasury accounting. Also, how soon the company sends for US training after joining...i have been told to be sent after 1 month.

also, i have been out in night shift and told it will not be changed b4 2yrs.? is it so? also throw some light upon month end pressures and stretching in shifts...

I really request people who have worked with Genpact to tell me the scenario.

Hoping a quick revert.

Thanks
Sku

Sku,

please refer to the newbie rules for posting your views on pagalguy.com.

You have raised a query in a wrong thread. People over here are having a totally different discussion on CFA from ICFAI and nowhere there is a mention about Genpact.

Regards.

Hi amit 12,
I do agree with you, can you please suggest the way forward, as I have alreay paid the required fees. Now, I can't give up, I want to clear CFA. Can you please suggest how to get sucess in the CFA exams.

thanks,
Kumar

Hi to all future CFA's........my name is Anand Sharma from haryana. I did B.com. 1 year ago. I m searching for a good course in finance field & I came to know about CFA. After lot of R&D; I decided to pursue CFA form ICFAI. Thanks to u guys who resolved my doubts about this course that whether to go for US CFA or ICFAI one.:D

My query is that as ICFAI is offering CFA course alone as well as with other PG courses like MBA, MSF, CPA etc. Should I go for dual course like cfa+mba or CPA or MSF OR alone CFA.

If no........then ok.

If yes..........then which combination is best. I heard that CFA+CPA is a gr8 combination.

one more thing that will both the degrees be valid as I heard that u can't pursue 2 pg degrees simultaneously from UGC recognized university & ICFAI is ugc recognized.

I have average grades in B.com.--57%.

Just do the ICFAI CFA and forget all the rest. You wil benefit greatly in the long run.

I Agree with Tumtum. I am Manoj pachouri working with HP as Engagement Lead. I also am pursuing CFA (writing group E exams in Jul 09). I am proud to tell that I have cleared all CFA groups in single attempts. You also can clear in single attempts but need to do a focused and quality study. This course has a lot of value in the market. Please contact me for any further inputs.

Hi Friends

Let me introduce myself first. I have done 3 years GNIIT Software Engineer course from NIIT (), Gold medallist in MBA from ICFAI (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4291642699164204155&hl;=en) and currently pursuing CFA from ICFAI along with working with Hewlett-Packard (HP). I found this course very knowledgeable and rigorous. It equips students with all the necessary financial skills and tools required to excel in financial domain.

Coming to the dispute that ICFAI and US CFAI are having, I think this is purely commercial and unwanted. Given the amount of money involved in education industry, US CFAI has become greedy and does not want to share this lucrative Indian education market with ICFAI. What US CFAI is demanding from ICFAI is just like IIMs asking other MBA institutes to stop awarding MBA degrees because IIMs were the first to award MBA degrees in India. This is totally childish and immature of US CFAI. What disturbs me more is that, even our highly skilled financial professionals are taking side of US CFAI just because it is a foreign brand. I want my Indian brothers to understand that just because you are using Adidas shoes or Apple iPods, you need not do CFA from US institute because it is a foreign brand.

US CFAI is well aware that ICFAI CFA is as good as theirs in course content and quality, if not better. But, in cost terms they can never match ICFAI as it is operating out of a low cost location and can offer the same quality at more efficient cost. This is the reason why instead of all the efforts, US CFAI has not been able to penetrate Indian market in last 20 years and will never be able to, till competitive players like ICFAI are in the market. If US CFAI has guts, let them offer better course and placements so that demand for their CFA automatically outperforms that from ICFAI.

Another logical solution to end this cat-and-rat fight is that instead of making 'CFA' brand a proprietary of US CFAI, let this brand be open to be used by any institute and then, let them compete against each other like MBA / Engineering institutes do. This will force these institutes to offer better course content at a better price.

Please feel free to contact me for any information on CFA or MBA.

Your emotional outburst against the US CFA is understandable but I fail to understand one thing. Despite being told not to flash your personal details like email ID and mobile numbers, why are you repeatedly doing the same?

Do you know you could be banned permanently for such violations?

Please remove your contact details from all of ur posts and also remove your email ID from your status or you may face music because of this.

I am your well wisher and so just guiding you. Hope you get the message !

Regards.

What sort of a question is this my friend?
Marketing and Financial Analysis are poles apart.

For you CFP would be better. You can find out more about CFP from this website: www.fpsbindia.org

Hope this helps.

It is true. The CFA is a farce. What helped you was your own determination and the hardwork that you put in to gain the requisite knowledge of finance. Kudos to you!

I seriously feel that if you gain the necessary knowledge and the know how then degrees hardly matter! But yes, the CFA (American) is definitely a good boost to your career and would help you gain the international exposure you are looking for and not the ICFAI CFA.

HI all

just thought Ill inform you, I had just been with a weekly chatting session with asociate dean of admissions at CHICAGO BOOTH (formerly GSB chicago university). On a specific Question wheather they recognize The CFA charter awarded BY ICFAI. She replied, they certainly do & that it would be considered as a factor if a student posessing such qualification seeks admissions in Chicago Booth

please visit the following webpage to confirm
