Hi Guys,
I have been following this thread from quiet a long time. I think rather than discussing about the quality .
You guys should believe in the course just like you did in your bachelor degree or master degree and just give your best shot, you never know that because of that you could become a professional controling Finance of group of companies. Ya i know i have exaggerrated but think always positive is the only message.
I am working in one of the MNC company as Advance Tax Analyst in Bangalore. I think corporates dont even give a damm shit on the certification rather than a through knowledge about area of subjects and you will go places buddy :cheerio:. Its all depends on your Interview with the guys and how you answer them.
Certainly this course is not a cake walk. I would suggest guys here to do self study and discuss about the problem they face while doing the course. So it would benefit all of us.
Once you are done with the course then we can see what is going to happen I enrolled to CFA course after reading the thread posted by TUMTUM, its quiet motivating.
So lets guys gear up and be ready for the course and we can show even the US CFA guys which is better. :2gunfire:
So guys waiting for your reply lets c we can make it happen.
Happy learning and discussing.

Even I have experienced the same situation.............I had just finished my graduation and was interested in the profile of a Financial Analyst. I was thinking whether to do an MBA or a CA or CFA. But After graduation worked one year worked for a BANK and Two years in BPO sector(along with preparation of CAT, Currently I am doing my regular MBA apart from pursuing CFA, Just because of the knowledge which I gained from the preparation of CFA, I was able to get through Internship program at one of the largest financial Service Providing company across the world "PwC- PricewaterhouseCoopers": I got lot of learning opportunity and I am sure it really help those who are planning for MBA and wants to specialize in the domain of Finance. I am sure this additional qualification will help me in getting a good placement while competing with my colleagues.
If any one is preparing for CFA exams and looking for previous years of question papers, you can send an email to me :,

Hi all,
I am working in a BPO sector, since 2005.
Just wanted to know do companies really count exp of BPO or not as i am in backoffice operations.
I am also in the 4th sem of PGDBA (finance). I am doing this through distance learning.
So after doing this course companies really pay according to the your salary or they will treat you as fresher.
Need your opinion guys asap....as i want to join it asap..
Thanks..

I think companies do count BPO exp but it depends on the kind of field you wanna enter.
If you have BPO experience in marketing field and you think that companies should consider that experience for a finance field, it wont be possible.
But let me make clear to you that companies do count even BPO experience.
hi all,
i need to know abt MS finance from ICFAI.
course duration,
admission procedure,
course value in market,
is it a distance learning course or regular classroom course,
as i am frm delhi thn how can i apply for it,
Is there any course CFA available in ICFAI or MS finance frm ICFAI is similar as CFA from CFA institute
I joined ICFAI Ms Fin prog few months back , But i now feel the i had made the most foolish mistake of my life.
Here is the complete story....
First i wanted to do CFA frm AIMR but the examination was banned in India . Then I came across to this wonderful thread and i was impressed with ICFAI . Then I enrolled for MS Fin . Then 1 mnt after that the ban on Us Cfa was lifted then one month after that Ms fin . Course was discontinued by ICFAI , suddenly I find myself in a deep shit . I could do nothing , my 80K has been wasted , gone down to the drain . My course suddenly has no value. Earlier only brand value was missing but now everything is missing.
Any one who is reading this i will advice him that if he doesnt hav financial contraints and if he can manage the tough studies he shud go for us cfa , one shud for icfai cfa if one wants a cheap and a easy to do cfa.....this is completely personal opinion
hi frns,
my name is Himanshu
Hae,
I have joined CFA from icfai thru correspondence in May 08 .I have my exams in october for Group A. Can some one lemme know the strategy that i shall follow. I m not working now , though i worked with BPO's for 3 yrs in Delhi. Problem is that i do not have commerce backround. But i have done B.A with Maths and Eco .I like no's and i have interest in investment banking too, hence i chose this course. So my two major queries are what shall be the strategy for preparation(workbook, textbook or study guide) and also i need question papers for for previous xams. It will be of great help if some of my seniors can be in touch with me & forward me their details so that i may reach them if needed, i'll really appreciate. [email protected].
Hi all ,
I am in the second year of my MBA and I wish to do CFA from ICFAI after I am done with MBA. I went through other posts regarding CFA and realized that people generally do CFA and then MBA, not vice versa. So, is it Ok to do CFA after MBA?

I would suggest you to complete your MBA and try to get placed in a Financial services/Investment/Brokerage/Banking kind of companies.
Once you get work experience of say 1 year then think to do CFA.
Otherwise It would be just knowledge gaining and no application and it would go wasted.:new_ukliam2:

HI Buddy,
I think company doesnt give a shit to the certificate unless you prove there that you have the knowledge of the work you are going to do . Even if you do a US CFA people wont be coming behind you if you dont have the relevant experience:2gunfire:.
I think its worth spending 80K rather than 300K where you dont even know that you would pass or fail and exams are there just twice a year.
:bigear:I would suggest you to believe in the course and just complete it.Once you done with that, you can see the results by good placement provided you have experience in a financial industry.
