While everybody is talking about important factors while deciding a bschool like, alums, avg package, batch size etc. But nobody is throwing light on *coed hostels * so seniors and informed pgmates plz help and name bschools where we can experience maximum “peer to peer” learning. Also curfew timings bhi batado :)
just received the email in which IMI said i am rejected.....whatever you r going to read now is not beacuse i have been rejected and this is my consequencial frustration rather i was waiting for this moment because i wanted to know whatever happened with me in the interview will it affcet my selection or not?(and this post in no way mean my disrespect towards the institute,i still consider IMI a great and prestigious B school,but some things need to be addressed.....so this is what went wrong....
i had my interview on 11th march in zirakpur,chandigarh
there were 7-8 people in my panel and i was the 5th one...
as soon as i entered the room i saw two middle aged gentlemen of which one was just leaning down in the chair i mean his legs were streched out far and his head was halfway down in the chair and his hands were behind his head (i hope you can now create the image in your mind)the other one was quite normal,but both of them clearly looked fatigued and disinterested,they did't even asked me to sit down after i entered the room(wow!checking my pateince?)after some awkward 30seconds of me standing and them being busy in their chatting they finally asked me to sit down.during the whole interview one the guys(the leaning one)was looking like he will fall asleep any minute...even in the extempore they gave me a topic as i was speaking i tried to make a eye contact which i was expecting that they will do too.but to my surprise one of them(the leaning one)had his eyes closed with his fingers placed on his eyes(like one of the gandhi ji's monkey) and the other one was busy reading some documents....i spoke for about 40-50 seconds.......towards the ending they asked me that whether i was aware that i have been shortlisted for only B&FS program and not core..and i said yes...they said that you are eligible for core why havent you been shortlisted...to which i said i dont know then asked a bit about my scores(10.12th.grad)and one of them said and i quote 'ladka toh ye theek hai,ise shotlist kyu nhi kiya?' to which the leaning one replied 'chlo ab iske naam ke age core bhi daldo....i was confused with all of this..how can such big b school can do that?i mean didt you looked through my form before shortlisting me....all and all my interview experience was horrible...i wont say that i should have been selected or not,,but the way they treated me was clearly not ok...all throughout the interview they were giving me an impression likel"say whatever you want to say mate,you aint the one getting selected".....
i will say it again this post in no means is my disrespect towards IMI but this is just a story of how your interview gets f*** up when you have a disinteresed panel.......i know they must have been taking interviews for days and must have been exhausted but this isnt what professionalism is...i mean one hand they ask us to appear in business attire while on the other hand the interviewer is leaning in the chair?
