Why is IIM rohtak preferred over raipur and kashipur? It has an average placement of 11.7 lakh, which has decreased this year from the previous year and I dont see any other great selling points. Please share what you know. Confused
I know it's late as results are about to come but I am really anxious. Honest opnion on this is highly appreciated. (For IIM Kozhikode)

PI - It seemed like a stress interview (was asked next question even before finishing answer to previous questions) , questions ranged from personal details, academics, current affairs, politics. Answered around 65-70% questions. Didn’t knew few questions so accepted my ignorance about it.
Asked about other calls in the end (this is my only call from old iims)
One panelist was smiling the whole time but other was not looking very happy in the end.

Why have been arguing about college ranks when banks have already made the lists? Sure , there are variations here and there, but looks pretty good to me.
As the interview season for the major B-schools come to an end( I have completed the interview processes including FMS). My experiences has made me reflect on the some basics things, which an aspirant goes through:
My credentials: CAT 99.88
Calls: A,C,K,I,S,FMS,IIT-B,IIT-D,FMS and others.
Converts: A
1. CAT exam : I had great respect for the exam, as it is considered to be the quite challenging. But, having given the interview process, I think it becomes a mere number. like I don't understand why IIM-I is a part of CAT, when it gives 76% weightage to 10th and 12th. People asked me why I gave FMS interview after converting A, because I respect an institute which gives due weightage to merit. And are not some experts from IIMs who judge you in 10 minutes to mark you on a scale that has around 40% weightage in the final selection.
1. Admission Process: I have to agree that after giving the process, I have bulit myslef as a better person I am today. I understood the importance of forming opinions about happenings in the world. But I had to work extraa, extra hard for that, Given my background, I had limited communication skills and lesser time during working-hours than those with unconventional backgrounds( I am trying to be humble).
2. Reservations : I know I will get a lot of bashing for this. But, It is best to say it. I come from a lower income background(father, sole family-earner, is a milkman), But unfortunately I was a general category student. First I gave IIT-JEE( made it to a old IIT), unlike IIMs it was totally merit-based(so no worries). But, at IIMs the reservation is bringing in worse of the talent(humble me). I interviewed at IIM-A with a girl with 86% in CAT. To my shock, she did B.A and at that moment I felt that merit has been defeated and placement agency part kicked in.
4. Course FEE at IIMs(placement agencies): Now after all the hardwork you have put in the process, they charge a bomb(20+ lakh) which is higher than outside B-schools(considering in terms of per-capita income of the countries). Yet, they keep hiking the fee at a rate, which you expect your salary to grow(unfortunately it never will :-P). Remember YOU are a part of demand and supply which soon will become difficult to break-even!!
Note to the future/current aspirants: WORK HARD and score well in CAT/XAT, give your best in the interview process. But, don't get too caught up in the admission criteria and rejection from an institute. Have a high-self esteem, have faith in yourself and if you face rejection, remind yourself that maybe you are cut out for something better. Remember, CAT is not entirely merit-based, there is a luck/fcuk(gender :-p)/ unconventional streams/reservation factor included. I wish like mutual funds, IIMs should give this out(CAT score is subject to market risks..Please read the offer documents carefully).

Tolaram strikes again in IIM SB. However, I have a doubt - This group is established in Indonesia and has HQ in Singapore. How are people so sure that it places MBA grads from new IIMs in Nigeria only?
