Left an ultra secure job in June 2020 and placed my faith on a pursuit where I had a history of failing. Idea was to work on my weaknesses (Quant and DILR) and for some part of the journey I got hold of them.
But the surprised pulled by Indore on the D-day coupled with my tendency to crumble under exam pressure made sure that I don't end up with a great score.
98.2 it was, QA and DILR lower than last year but as usual verbal came through with a 99.5!
Calls: MDI, Nmims, Sjmsom,CAP, Mica.
CAP interview was exactly how I expected it to be. Random & Short. I was not even banking on it.
Same day had an Interview for NMIMS. When I came out of the room my mom asked me how it went. "This one is a sure shot convert" I replied.
A week later appeared for MICA after traveling for hours to reach the venue. Nailed the interview part, had an above average GE. Deep down I had a feeling that I will get in. Reached home after a tiring day and next morning Sjmsom panelists were waiting to grill me. Interview was below average. I was not even hoping for a waitlist since my CS score was already very low compared to other aspirants.
God gave me exactly a break of one month for my most important Interview. I wasn't enrolled for any gdpi coaching but I used that time to prepare in the best way I could.
Interview at MDI was weird. No technical questions, No workex related questions, No current affairs. It revolved around the word "Values". Although it was not an ideal structured interview but my soft skills came handy in defending my stance and vision. Interview wasn't great but it wasn't bad either.
Once the interview season was over I analysed all the options I had. My heart was set on MDI-PGPM and MDI-HRM. Of course with no job in hand I would have settled with any other convert as well, but then I would have questioned my entire journey. Not a very good place to be ,when you are about to start a new chapter of your life.
In a journey where at most 'N' things can go wrong, 'N-1' went wrong for me. But I am glad the last one was ruled in my favour.
Happily joining the holy campus in Gurgaon. MDI-HRM it is!

My Academics are - 74,77,64. I have done a BSc. in Zoology and I don't have any other achievements, if I get a good score in CAT ( currently scoring 90-95 percentile in Mocks) will I get a call form any of the Baby IIMs? How hard will it be for me to get a convert as I do not have good academics? What can I talk about in the interview? #help.
