I need some suggestions pls. I have converted Fore (IB) and waitlisted at tapmi marketing msm - 93, which i think i will convert. Should I take a drop this year and try for IMI , IMT, NMIMS Mumbai, GIM. This would be my 4th attempt and in my 2020 attempt i got 83 percentage. I have 17 months work exp and my gap year will be 2 years in 2022 interview process. I am 25 years old. I think if I give cat again i can score around 90 percentile, but I am not sure as you cannot predict cat exam. Should I stick with Fore (IB) or try again only for these colleges - IMI , IMT, NMIMS Mumbai, GIM.
I was absent in my class 12 cbse board 6th subject ( which is optional ) . And it is written Ab in marks section . I took avg from 500 instead of 600 . Anyone have any idea about this .

Anybody has any idea whether MDI gives buffer calls every year? Really perplexed by their statement confirming buffer calls for this year and silent treatment for waitlist movements.
PS: I am WL at 196 for HRM and very much willing to join if converted.
The last couple weeks have been pretty difficult. At 99.44 %ile, getting calls from IIM Bangalore and Lucknow seemed like a dream come true and truth to be said, I was expecting to get atleast 3-4 converts this season. My acads were favourable (95/95.4/94.7) and my mock interviews went really well too. But as fate would have had it, IIM Trichy is my only convert as of today, with waitlist numbers that don't stand a chance of conversion at MDI-G and IIM Indore and direct rejects by B, L and SPJIMR. The worst part being that B, L and SP were the best Interviews I had and I was almost expecting a B convert. Sadly, reality begged to differ. Needless to say, the depression is kicking in hard and I'm trying to pull myself back up for the 2021 season. Any suggestions on how I should begin prep for this year's CAT? Any strategies that I could try out to score better (the quant section is my Achilles' heel)?

I left my job in August'20 to be able to prepare full time, but things didn't go the way I had expected them to, Missed XL shortlist (Courtsey 1 mark in DM), Waitlisted in MDI HR at 449(Sill figuring as to what went wrong as the intereview was as smooth as I could ever imagine it to be).
Converted SIBM.
Few things I want you all to give perspective about,
a) How significant is the difference between SIBM and MDI HR?
b) With these Acads is it realistic to convert XL if I decide to give another shot?
All sorts of suggestions are welcome, hoping for blunt ones.
WL under 20 for MDI HRM Converted IIM Shillong I'm not sure about which specialisation to take but have inclination towards Sales & Marketing. But I've heard that your interests are subject to change once you enter a bschool. How shall I decide between the two now? Please provide points.

Does anyone have actual detailed placement data of any of the top 10 bschools? Like not the placement reports that they upload on their websites but genuine data like ctc breakups for specific companies and profiles that placement cells might make for internal usage.
Will help greatly to make an informed choicebetween going for an MBA or continuing with job (salary wise).

NEVER SAY NEVER!!! May 16th: Eagerly waiting for the IIMK results. Refreshed PG, boom..."Results released". In this moment of uncertainty, moment of doubtfulness, my whole CAT journey flashed before my eyes. While I was typing in my credentials, I kept on murmuring "could have answered that question differently...could have added a few extra points", to myself. However, bearing in mind that nothing could be accomplished by agonising over what could have and what should have been done, I pressed enter. And oh my, though not an exact win per se, being waitlisted at 4, but enough to make a grown man ecstatically happy. May 28: Converted!! In the past, I had tried all the different possible solutions to get away from the competition, the competition that ultimately indurated my will to take the game head on. (Tried my hands on TOEFL, GMAT, and PTE but I guess it was the CAT that set me on a journey of self realisation). Having 30 months of experience and being from a completely offbeat industry, never did I think that I'd be competing for one of the most revered and prized MBA seats in the country. Never had I imagined that I'd be able to satisfy the interviewers with my response to "Why MBA after Urban Planning and Public Policy" until I met the nicest assessors on the D-day. (Nevertheless, I guess interacting with govt officials from all across the country had given me the essential skills to drive the interview and set the table to my comfort.) I believe it's the avidity for self-improvement that keeps a man striving for success, and is essentially the recipe for favourable outcomes. Not going to be too philosophical here, but keep that fire alive no matter what! 👍 Looking forward to meeting some of the brightest minds at the God's own IIM. Thank you so much PG community for keeping me sane through all the turmoils.

I don't have anything big to right or story of somekind.. But what I am willing to do is answer any questions you may have... About me GEM 8.6/76(diploma in mech. engg.)/73(b.tech tier 3 clg) 2019 passout CAT-99.68 XAT-99.47 2 years gap( not for prep., lost job opportunity in april 2020 due to covid, have been intern trainee for 6 months till then sept. 2019-march2020) Converts - XLRI HRM Rejects - FMS, XL BM, IIM S(WL379), UDAIPUR(WL 742), ALL OTHER NEW IIMs is almost same, nitie, iit B I know where I made mistakes in my PIs and also why I could convert XL HRM. So, anyone with any doubts regarding gaps or "failures and how success follows it" want to clear their mind.. I would like to hear and try my best to motivate you guys...
