When will the final results of iims be out?.. Any idea?
Imagine scoring a 99.70%ile in CAT, not applying anywhere but your dream colleges and then, one fine night, just as you're sipping hot chocolate in an air conditioned room and watching a beautiful movie, getting a congratulatory booklet emphatically informing you of an interview shortlist sealed in an envelope from 'Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management' because T.I.M.E. sold your address, name and contact number but did not sell them your percentile so they could spend their money on realistic candidates.
- A happy receiver of >5 such booklets and flyers over the course of this week.
[EDIT]: Oh they also want Rs. 1200 as an application fee for a program I didn't sign up for, from a college of which I'm hearing for the first time this blessed night. How very, very generous of them! ❤️
So, I have received multiple mails from institutes who have selected me for GD-PI even though I have never applied to any of those (you know, all of those who bought our email ids from coaching institutes). It kind of got really annoying, to be honest, until this.
One of those shared the address of the hotel where GD-PI would be conducted. It is in another city, but coincidentally, I am going to be in that city on the date of the (supposed) interview.
What happens if I just randomly walk up to the hotel, wave my 99+ percentile CAT score card in their faces, tell them that this score card is enough proof for selection, and ask for refreshments. Are they even expecting me, and will there be anyone present taking PI?
(Mostly joking, as I might not even find any free time, but what would you do in my place?)
Profile- 10th/12th/grad(in final year rn)/cat/xat=9.2/79/67/88.1/93.33
Gave interviews for IMTG, KJ, Fore, XIMB, and a few more but am waitlisted for all ya DCP(lol).
I genuinely don't know how to proceed. Should I go for the exams another time or just wait for 2 months and hope that my waitlist clears for one of these colleges. Any advice is welcomed

Isn't hardwork overrated ? Isn't luck underrated ? If I see response on this post, I will post a detailed explanation tomorrow.

As i got enough response on my last post, so here is my explanation -
This world is very complex yet we try to explain it using simple facts like hardwork. Human are just animals we can be trained but intelligence is something which is inherited.
There are three types
1 who have logic
2 who have algorithm
3 who have both
the people who belong to 1st type often are the lucky ones(lucky because intelligence is something you can't control), who understands things easily how things work and they didn't work hard as they think, they might find a solution on spot and these type of people get 91-96 percentile in CAT.
the people who belong to 2nd type are hardworking but they lack logic, they try to connect new problem they are facing with the every old problem they have solved and they fail cause this doesnot happen and these type of people get 80 - 91 percentile in CAT.
the people who belong to 3rd type often succeded in life as they are intelligent have higher IQ but they still understand the fact that finding a logic to a problem takes time so they work to find the most optimized algorithm to solve questions which can be repeted so they can solve these problem in less time and they are the ones who score 97-100 precentile.
so here cat is over now about interviews -
here luck plays a major role. here lucky ones(we can't choose our parents) are those who have been brought up by the parents who give equal weightage to acads and extra curriculum.
so in my opinion the only truth we are being told in our life time is -
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते माँ फलेषु कदाचन। माँ कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
If hardwork pays Krishna should have told so that you must workhard and you'll get results but what he told us that you have no right on result, all you can do is workhard so workhard.

I saw a couple of very interesting takes on luck and hard work, which reminded me of the beautiful video by Veritasium that I saw a long time back which helped me develop a perspective about this. Every time I am successful, I attribute my success to luck, so that it doesn't bloat my feeling of self importance. Every time I fail, I attribute it to the lack of hard work from my side, because that is the only way I can push myself to do better.
