In 12th there was 0% weightage for boards, 100% weightage for JEE/CET. Obviously people studied less for boards exam.
7 years down the line they tell you, you shoulve studied more in 12th coz we will consider that in B school.

Agar 10/12 me you meet any kid; please ask him not to fall for those grades don't matter crap and those meme pages telling you grades can't define you and Einstein/Newton failed bla bla course still they got successful. Okay, so I have a query. IIM K changed its criteria this year. 10th: 15% 12th :30% CAT score : 45% Academic/ Gender diversity : 10% Now let's take an example. A candidate with diversity scores 95 percentile with 85/85 in 10th and 12th. Assuming highest in both 10th and 12th to be 99. 95 percentile is roughly 120 marks. 10th score : (85/99)*15=12.87 12th score: (85/99)*30=25.75 Cat: (120/300)*45=18 Diversity:10 Total= 66.62 Now to get the same score a candidate without diversity with 95 /95 in 10th and 12th will have to score in CAT- 10th:(95/99)*15=14.40 12th :(95/99)*30=28.80 Total :43.2 He has to get 23.42 in cat out of 45 Which is roughly 156 marks. Almost 99 percentile. Note I took 85/85 in initial case and 95/95 in the second case . Still a difference of 4 percentile points in CAT. Is the process really this unfair or am I calculating it wrong ?

87/83/72 10th 12th UG
Deep down I knew A and B was impossible
But had hopes for other. I am sure there are many like me.
I know and I understand the reasons for diversity points.
But to be frank, I feel like i wasted a lot of energy in this process.
Looking forwards for the silverlining now.

1. As a GEM, I won't write CAT again. No, thanks.
2. I have to now compete with 99%ile+ folk for New IIMs/ NITIE/MDI/IIT-D
3. I can realistically target IIT-Kgp/IIT-M/IIM-Amritsar/IIM-BG/IIM-Jammu (Other baby IIMs have 15-20% diversity weightage)
4. Decent B-schools I will apply to - IIT-Kanpur/IIT-Roorkee/IMT-G/IMI-D/DU(Fin/IB/BE)/TAPMI/XIMB
5. You have to keep options - I gave SNAP and have 98.91%ile.(SIBM/SCM/SIIB) NMAT-211, when IIFT and XAT screwed me over.
Now, i am thinking whether to give CET and get sydenham, which costs 1.6 lacs and has avg package of 10lpa. Will have to work for it though.
Now, to think of those GEMs, who celebrated their percentiles at around 95-96, good lord. It only gets worse. My friend is applying for Masters in Business Analytics in Germany and it costs the same (~17-18 lacs), You could too.

I got a call from IIM lucknow and i need to get work experience vertificate and college degree. Unfortunately, it takes atleats 7-14 days to get work experience certificate and i dont have original degree with me at the moment. Can i upload payslips and and provisional instead?
