Hey guys...my SNAP went fine..All QA and LR questions were solvable and did that in 85 mins. Expecting 90+ accuracy there. VA was of moderate difficulty level when compared with previous papers (With lot of Voccab based questions) I attempted around 25-30 here and expecting around 60 + accuracy. GK was out of my scope. Still i managed to attend around 10 questions randomly. Even with 50 % accuracy i will be happy. Filled only SIBM pune this time. And i hope its cut off will be around 105. Last year the cut off was 91 and in 2010 it was 108 something. Wishing all the very best for those waiting for the results. @pugna @seetharam7 @Vineeth555 (sorry if i missed anyone) Cheers!!

Yes...around 6 qns...my marks ws close 2 10 or so...its enuf for HR...

A doubt from my end !!

1 ) Let N be a 4 digit number in base 5. Aju converts it into decimal and finds that it is divisible by 7. Manu on the other hand assumes it to be a decimal number and observes that it is also divisible by 7. How many such N exist?

PS : For the guys who have taken IIFT/SNAP & plan to take XAT...

What all material are you/ have you/ will you be referring for GK Prep ?

N = (abcd) base 5 ( a>=1, and all

N mod 7 (assuming base 10) = (100b + 10c + d - a) mod 7 = (2b + 3c + d - a) mod 7 = 0
=> 2b + 3c + d - a = 7m

N converted to base 10 = d + 5c + 25b +125a = N1

N1 mod 7 = (d + 5c + 4b - a) mod 7 = 0 => d -2c -3b -a = 7k

Subtract them, we get, 5(c-b) = 7(m-k)
=> (c-b) should be a factor of 7 => c-b = 0,7,-7 [ but c,d c-b cannot be 7 or -7]

Add them, we get (c-b) + 2*(d- a) = 7*(m+ k)
=> 2*(d -a) is a factor of 7 => (d-a) = 0,7,-7 [but a,d

So, c = b and d = a

a can take 4 possibilities (1,2,3,4)

Now, Remainder = 2b + 3c + d -a = 5c + 0 = 5c => c should be a factor of 7 => c=b=0

So, Only possible numbers are 1001,2002,3003,4004 ?

Thanks a lot for making it so clear for all of us !!!

Though a small error in subtraction : You will get it as 5(b+c) = 7(m-k) ..

So missed out a few cases like,
Eg: 3430 base 5=490 base 10 ( Case 1) & 3430 is also divisible by 7 (Case 2).

The OA is 8.

Guys...IIFT results are out...i ve not been shortlisted. Guess some sectional cut offs would have played the spoilsport...All the best for those who could convert and work hard for the upcoming rounds.
