I took less than 30 sec. Started from the answers. It can't be 232 or 116. In the 1st round itself there would be 58 matches. So, i went for 115. Is it right ? Whats the method ?

Trial and error. X= -3 or +3 and Y = 10
So, 7 or 13. Option c. I first chose none of these

@sriraman89 Dude, the mba season has just begun. And CAT is just one exam. There is still exams like IIFT, NMAT, IRMA, SNAP and XAT. After that, there is stuff like getting calls, GDs and PI. Try to be active from now on. This group will be active till next april atleast

y^3-x^6=271
which means 271 is divisible by y-x^2.But 271 is prime . Therefore y-x^2=1 or 271
y=1+x^2
which is satisfied when x=2 and y=5...x+y=7

There is even simpler solution..For getting a winner out of 116 players 115 players should be eliminated.For that there should be 115 matches ..1 elimination/match

B school bohat sahi hai 😛 😉 😁 i'm loving it 😁 classes are very good,my batch is great and we are having fun as well..went for a film yesterday since we didn't have a quiz today..and to a pub,after the film 😛 😁 (we have quizzes almost everyday 😛 :D) i'm enjoying studies after a long,LONG time 😁
@seetharam7 there was no timer as such,i started sec to after about a min..you can go to the restroom and all if you want to,after sec1..
