, but what I am trying to do is, giving all the little things I can so that it may help you. ATB bro! @spdspd said:. eg: LR may be our strongest area but if a tough LR comes, we need to set our ego aside(that is 'I can solve any LR sets! So no matter how much time it takes, I will solve the sets!') and go for VA part. It is not like we haven't touched VA during preps. So intelligent recognition of difficulty of questions plays an important role.
And the 1st RC i chose was a philosophical one
Did something. After the exam, i found out that all 3 of my answers in the LR set was wrong.
phewwwww..my CAT2012 can be summed up in 1 malayalam word which starts with 'o' and ends in 'bi' π π it was terrible π a couple of my classmates at IIM I Mumbai had also booked the same slot at the same centre.. in sec1,i attempted 11..i don't know what happened,i got stuck with 3-4 qns which i left halfway and i didn't get enough time to complete one DI set..but still,11 is..phew.. my classmates attempted 28 and 24,dispelling any hopes i had of the paper being difficult π π i guess sec1 would have been easy for anyone who had prepared well. i thought i'd get some respite in sec2;i thought wrong..3 LR sets ..moderate to easy..3 RC sets,2 were moderate to difficult and 1 was untouchable ..paragraph completion,even AIMCATS didn't have qns that were that hard..
so what did i do? i attempted 30/30 π π π :D
All i can say is,i feel extremely happy that i joined here when i had the chance to..on another day,i might have attempted 15 in sec and around 24-25 i was sure of in sec2...but today just was not my day :D
p.s: i have a Quantitative Techniques-1 test tomorrow (the 3rd quiz already since i joined on 9th :D) and 3 mid-terms this week π π

So u never know ... we will see on the 9th

P.S : Howz B-skool life treating u ?

Hey guys,
Can any1 share the info about the centre at Cochin, ie, Spanning n/w's?
If you are coming by train , get down at south and its hardly 500mtrs by walk , ask for BSNL CUSTOMER CARE near Karikkamuri ( please not there is also a BSNL BHAVAN near South railway station, so be careful about that ) . The exam centre is opposite the customer care.
The distance from my house to the CAT centre is 600m
@seetharam7
@joethaliath
No no, I just need to know about the atmosphere/facility/staffs there. I am from cochin itself and would be taking CAT on 30th. :)
@seetharam7:
Ok, All right. All the best. How are the preps going?
I'm Anand. I'm working @ TCS in infopark..
WBU?
It seems many are taking their exam in the Thursday slots. I have spotted @seetharam7 and
@Kevin88 (PMed me in my mail..Thanks for the alarm
) besides myself.. Oh and this is my first post in this forum in this id, i think ( old id was @vinmohcetvmklm, got hacked by some alavalathi). Stayed away from the forums cos of rumorophobia ..
nyways, my best wishes to every soul who is yet to take the exam and to those guys whos already done with their CAT, good luck wit the results (premature, i know
)

Guys have a few queries..(simple though it may seem but still have some lingering doubt & need clarifications from your end..)
1)What is the exact definition of the term 'margin'?
Eg: When both a loss & a profit is made on the sale of 2 goods... is the margin the
difference between the two ? Or am i completely wrong ?
2) Is their an easier way to solve the following eq :
3) How do you plot a graph for the above eq? Does anyone know how to solve such eqs
graphically ?
4) Could someone shed some light on clocks especially about losing time/gaining time / no of meeting points etc

and I will be joining TCS. Training starts at Hyderabad on 26 December.@Vineeth555 said:It seems many are taking their exam in the Thursday slots. for the 2nd deg equation, as the denominator represents a complex second power, i usually shift the complexity from denominator to the numerator ( by substituting). that way, I will be able to get all possible values ( incl. negatives)
regarding, margin, I take it as the net difference in the selling price and cost price. although, i thought, margin % was calculated based on SP.. cos u r earning a margin on what u r SELLING
do correct me guys..@seetharam7 i didnt get ur concept of calculating it based on CP. mind clarifying? ( can be useful fr CAT 2013 for me
)Now regarding graphs, if u have a basic idea bout the shapes of graphs, of various figures ( lines, circles, parabolas, ellipse, hyperbolas etc), it can be helpful. If I was asked to solve that eq using graphs, my method would be to convert that equ into a known pattern ( as it has a 2nd degree and one variable, graph is usually not needed, i doubt whether a graph would be generated)
.. ini athava njan paranjathu thettanel onnum thonnaruthu.. padichu padichu oru vazhiyaaya manushyante eccentricity aanennu karuthi kshemikkuka..
regarding clocks, I dont use/ dont know the exact theory. gaining and losing time, i ll give a try using the options. and see whether the conditions hold. For meeting points, i am clueless
