Hey all..so i finally decide to join IIM I Mumbai.. i know,i know.. 😛 😁 but over the last couple of days,it became increasingly apparent that wanted to join.. 😁 so i talked to a few IIM I grads and TIME trivandrum director..they also think that in the long run,joining would be a good choice,esp since i'm a fresher(fresher's get better placements? i didn't know that 😁 )

I have a feeling that you will perform CAT better by doing it this way , the pressure to perform in CAT will be lesser now 😃 and that could lead you to better things 😃

@Kevin88 Right on ! We need to work harder. I am following a plan of a mock at night and analysis next day morning. Its doing wonders to my score (as you would have observed). I hope to reach the 3 digit mark soon (94 in the prev).

As far as I am concerned , been concentrating on sec2 for sometime. This is primarily coz' from last years' CAT , we could observe that Sec1 will b a notch lower than the Mocks as far as difficulty is concerned. But , VA would be more or less on par and i had been faring badly in it.
Been doing one chapter from Norman Lewis ,reading the paper(TOI) thoroughly and Hindu editorials online 😃 daily. Add to that , atleast 2 RCs from TIME STUDY MATERIAL.
Trying to take 2-3 mocks a week. Will switch to Quant very soon and complete the basic study of Prob. , P&C; ,functions etc by Oct 1st .
From then on , it will be the previous CAT papers and mocks only. Some revision of basics periodically too
@Kevin88 : hehe...anganonnumilla...anyways about the appraoch...i follow a 40 sec rule with qa questions...as in if i cn gt an approach to the qn in 40 sec i consider the qn worth pursuing..else i leave it and proceed to the next qn..i make it a point to cover QA questions within the 1st 30 mins at any cost...and then proceed to DI...m ok at DI now..so i try to grab all of the caselets...
Now coming to VA ...its like a bloody dementor to me.. 😁 ...if m in a happy mood i ace it..else it goes down the drain...about the approach...i follow a VA-LR-RC approac...if LR is tough i proceed to RC complete them and come back 2 LRs...
Now remember this...if the paper is tough for us..its tough for a lotta ppl..so limit ur answers to whatever u gt (not applicable to those who hav an uncanny ability to guess)...and pray for normalisation to go easy on u... ATB guys :)

And my way of attacking sec 1 is like this. I make sure i scan through all 21 questions from quants in first 40 mins. Whichever ones i am not able to solve in 2 mins time i bookmark them. Also i skip those questions where i go clueless how to go ahead. i spare 20 mins for 3 DI caselets which i feel is good enough to solve those 9 questions. Remaining 10 mins i spent on those book marked questions and then move to the skipped ones if time permits.
Again im repeating the same funda. I am damn sure in actual CAT 25-26 questions will be solvable for anyone who had put some effort in preparing for about 4-5 months. But temperament and accuracy is the key. Dont make silly mistakes. Give enough time in reading and analyzing the question before taking the pencil. Also start working on speed. its of no use getting one question correct spending 5-6 mins on it.
Last 30-40 days for CAT guys....Dont get tensed, relax yourself and do your preps.
According to me CAT is not just about doing 60 questions correctly on that day. Its more about handling and managing properly that 2 30 hours available for you on that day. Cheers!!
pradyothcjohn I'm happy for you buddy .But beyond that I am proud to say that i have a friend at IIMI (Mumbai) .Just don't let the admission slow down your CAT 12 preparation.Also, please stay active on this thread.A lot of us have much to learn from you.Your decission will never let us down.As a matter of fact, i think all of us are happy to know that you cared enough to ask our opinions before making the choice.Hope you have a great college life and lots of memorable experiences at IIM.Our prayers are always with you

Then as per you the no of pairs should be 4*4/2 =8.
But its only (3*3+1)/2 =5.
Anyone having any solved example for such sums ??
