what a baby..17" screen..240 gigs ! hey any puy going to the us ??

Funkyboy,
If I get a 5.1 speaker system, shdnt it be compatible with the on-board sound card ? :|

most MB now offer on board 5.1 or 6.1 channel sound. so the 5.1 speaker shud work fine. i currently use a creative inspire 5.1 speaker with my desktop which has onboard sound thru the intel 865dbf MB.. no sound card

17" is way too large for a laptop. It looks sexy with a 12.1 resolution.

12.1 inches is too small for laptop. And if u r thinking about gaming and movies go for atleast 15.4 inch widescreen laptop.

Go for a desktop if u're really keen on movies and games.

But then some BSchools make laptops compulsory :(

I am 99.99% going for the Dell 6400. With Radeon 256 and 1 GB RAM. Costs 65k + Tax.

I read somewhere that 17'' screen is the largest screen size managable by human eyes for working on a computer. Its better to have two monitors side-by-side rather than going for a 21" monitor.

What do you guys think ?

21" ? To do what ? Finite Element Analysis ? 😐

Actually 21'' is good if u r designing some VLSI chip. But u don't require them for business schools .

And I have not seen any laptop with 21'' screen .And if there is how do u cary it around. :wow:

Hey,
They use that in major Engineering projects. GE Power Systems does that. Thats why I asked if it was a query for FEA 😃

By hiring a coolie I guess

I meant desktops. At work. For coding or whatever work. People in CAD/CAM etc need large screen space.

2 monitors side-by-side means multiple monitors where you can put some windows on one screen and some on the other. Some applications specially support this kinda setup like photoshop where you can move all the palette tabs to the other screen.
