hey, toshiba is a gr8 buy for 61k i 2 cant believe it bcoz i was told that its range starts from somewhere in 80ks. just c to it that the Hard disk and RAM r upgradable otherwise its of no use.
Well i went in for the DELL 9300 piece.I like the reviews but the common opinion is gaming aint a sweet thing on this desktop relacement. I have 512mb ram AND 128 MB Ati Radeon x300 Graphics card with a few other cool stuff included like bluetooth coz my cell(Nokia 7610) added makes for a hell of a combo. But the drawback is weight and not heat.Dell is extremely heavy when compared to other laptops and it shows. Well once i get the laptop maybe i will review the graphics card

How does he bring it into India . He says it wud be entered into his passport if he says that the laptop belongs to him and has to show it while taking it back. Or else he has to pay the duty.
How do we deal with this ?? If we have to pay the duty ... How much will it be ?? Any chances of reducing it ??

ure cousin can easily get the lappy as a personal item and he doesnt need to carry it back. things can be gifted/stolen/forgotten. i can vouch for this coz i am writing this post on my new INSPIRON 6000(its an absolute beauty) . my uncle just got it from the us w/o any trouble. it was unpacked, charged and a user profile was created. feel free to clear any more doubts.

Hey I heard that they make an entry into your passport that you're carrying a so and so laptop with so and so tag-id. Seems that they'll check for the laptop while going back .
Is this true ?? How do we deal with this ?? And if my cousin says that the laptop is his personal item and he says that it got stolen ?? Will they be convinced ?? How will they deal with it then ??
And what if he says that it is for his cousin. How much will he have to pay ?? I mean even though the laptop costs about 1200$ can he say that it costs around 400$ ?? coz the duty is calculated as a percentage of the price ??
