@ bhansalisid,
As i mentioned in my earlier post, you have to go through a case study instead of a GD, so having the knowledge of current affairs doesn't help directly but they will surely help you indirectly 'cause you can quote them during your case studies. (My take is knowing something always helps)
Also, during interview, there are some questions which will be asked most of the time e.g Why MBA? where do u see urself after 5 years from now? and all that usual stuff.
For freshers, be assured you will be asked questions on your acads & work-ex people will be asked questions regarding their work profile and the company they worked for. So be prepared for tht as well.(freshers and people with less than 1 year of work-ex be thoroughly prepared with atleast 1 subject from your graduation).
Regarding forms, you will know about it when the shortlist comes out.

hi anksingla
since sibm already has our work-ex details and our academic records,it would be able to calculate our marks out of 50(30 from snap score,10 for academics and 10 for work ex)
so would the calls given on the basis of score of 50 marks or only the snap scores

@ fringant,
The calls would be given in the basis on your SNAP score only. The work-ex and academics will be taken into account only while declaring the final results.

@ajetwal,
Please post your queries on the relevant thread. Please ask queries relating to SCMHRD on SCMHRD's thread only. It helps us to reply better & you also get a response from the people who know more.

Sir,
My score is Snap is 95.25. Can I expect a call from SIBM? Also, can you probably just brief on where SIBM stands in B-school ratings in India?
@manojkamath,
I cannot comment on the rating of SIBM among the b-schools of India ('cause the rules of this thread do not allow me to do so). But if you have any specific queries regarding SIBM feel free to ask them and I will be more than happy to answer to them.

u need not worry, your call is more than secured...;-)
Hi.
My SNAP Score is
VERBAL : 17.5
QUANTS: 21.25
GK: 20.25
LR: 26.5
TOTAL: 85.5
Class X: 91%, Class XII: 75%, BBA-67% and a fair amount of extra curricular achievements.
Could this score get a call? Seems like almost everyone is scoring more than me.
sir,
I have 2 questions.
1. does sibm give preferance to the students of iits/nits(freshers) for the final admission?
2. on what basis are the sectional score decided? are these mere some %age of the total score or it depends upon the relative performance?
regards

i guess sectionals must be some predecided marks, like atleast 5 in gk, which was quite manageable in this paper, people having gk level below this as it wont be a very good choice in gd/pi, whts the point giving them a call??

Sectionals are always relative and since calls are on the basis of scores, they are calculated in such a way so that x% of junta fulfills the criteria for the call.
Having said that, it depends on the institute whethr they wud like to give prefernce to a particular section or goes for the overall score.

Balanced sectional, decent overall score. U hv very good chances. Last yr cutoffs for SIBM wr ard 83-84. Since sectionals are involved, cutoffs r not expected to shoot up too high.
Besties n keep ur fingers crossed

B-school comparisions and ratings are a big no-no on this forum. Pls be careful in future.
Use private msging facility to seniors to determine whether a B-school is a good fit for u or not. :smile:
Nice scores... shud get u a call..

if the sectionals are relative then its a real tough call for me . got only 12 in VA .
