Hi Sir,
I have been working for about an year in a software development company.It has a Tie-up with SIBM to provide Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management(EPGDBM) course from SIBM.

What i would like to know is the value of the EPGDBM degree in my career.In what way will it benifit my career.And also how would you rate the SIBM EPGDBM degree to that of a Executive MBA degree from IIMs

hello sir my doubt is regarding the quota system that i see in symbiosis. it says 15% is management quota seats. what exactly do you mean by a mgmt quota? how does one get eligible to apply through this quota?

coz last year during june they came up with some seats added for obc quota...
no such decleration this year as if now.

-------> do firms/ SIBM keep any cut-off in terms of class X and XII marks during the final placement, to be eligible.

I am Atul and appearing for the SNAP this year.
my query is minimum how much one has to attempt to clear SNAP.
as 40 ques are coming from each section plz tell me min how many quest we have to attempt in each section. which section has more weightage(QA,DI RC or GK).

i have 1.6 years of exp in IT what is the weightage of the experience.

I am a commerce graduate with First Class. i have no work experience.
I completed Graduation this year.
My MArks in xth are 78% and Xii is 70.83%. and B.com -64.14%.

Since i have no work experience what are my chances of getting into SIBM? FIrst of all are there any? I can definitely clear the cut ofss

I am an MBA aspirant and i am applying for SIBM for the program 2008-09. i would like to know about the Bangalore campus whether it offers the same educational quality as Pune campus, is bangalore campus a residential one? will students in bagalore have the same opportunities as in Pune regarding placements and offered salaries? does Bangalore campus offer the same facilities?

Hi,
All facilities and academic rigor which you have come to expect from SIBM, Pune will remain in SIBM, Bangalore. Bangalore will be a fully residential campus in heart of Electronic city. Also since we are under the same umbrella all placements will remain in the same category. I wish you luck.

Hi Atul,
The important thing in SNAP is to to time yourself as there is an element of negative marking also. Secondly as cutoffs are sectional you will have to ensure that you attempt all sections equally so as not to miss out. Best of luck.

Some companies do look at X & XII marks to evaluate the consistency in the students while some concentrate only on your MBA performance.

Hi,
Last year we had added 7% OBC quota but this year, as far as OBC quota goes, we are going as per our prospectus which you can go through.

Hi,
Management quota seats are those that are reserved by the Symbiosis society for management's discretion. You have to go through SNAP and then approach the society's office at Pune for details.

Hi,
Sorry for this delay in replying. The EPGDBM is a customized 2 1/2 year program for your company. The Ex-MBA of IIMs is a fully residential 1 year program. Hence comparing these 2 programs will be difficult as both have their own merits.

I am Indrajoy. I am a passout of NIT Bhopal and currently work with CSC(1 yr exp). I have been academically good throughout. As you mentioned that SNAP will be having sectional cutoffs, and thats where I am a bit worried. I am not very good at GK, rather you can say pretty bad 😞 . Can you please tell me , whether you will be having a rigid cutoff or will it be relative, like percentile kinda...

Believe me, if I clear GK,,,, then you will see me at the GD/PI round for sure :)

Hello Sir,

You mentioned before that there is sectional cut-off.
Does SIBM have an overall cut-off also?
I mean if i get just cut off marks in all, will I be eligible (ignoring other factors like work-ex etc as of now)?
