SIBM has given a preference sheet with the form asking for choosing among Pune / Bangalore.. Is it that if i tick BOTH, the preference will be decided by SIBM admin or is it that i may be asked if i stand a chance for admissions to SIBM..
Also, will SIBM have common summer & campus placements for the '08 batch or they will be separate?

I have one query regarding the application form.
At one place, we need to get the signatures of our parents. For people like me, working away from the home town, its an uneccesary overhead of sending the form back home, getting it signed, receiving it, and then submiting it to SIBM, leading to wastage of both time and money.
Don't you think as MBA aspirants and working professionals, we are adults and mature enough to take our own responsibility, and hence parents signature not required?
1....myself mayank sharma & i m currently working in indian railweays .i worked there in all fields i.e,reservations.goods,parcels& booking.sir i want to know whether this 3 YRS of experience would be counted or not as i don't have managerial level exp. 2...secondly sir i want previous years SNAP's questions papers,so please suggest me the way from where i will get these papers. 3....sir i also want to know the expected cut off for both the exams i.e,SNAP & IBSAT. 4... I also heard that there r campus of sibm wiz.@ pune & banglore ...sir i also want to know the difference between them . plz gibve me some useful preperation tips for last days preperation.sir i m so thankful to you as u gave me ur precious time for us ....

hay Mayuresh as stated earlier cut offs will be there. That will be decided only after the test. so prepare well and give ur best shot at SNAP.:)
In ur mail box U get a notification as someone has made a reply to the thread but that does not necessorily mean Ur post has been replied..

my simple question is what exactly in work ex. do you or any premier institute sees. I mean eg. a job of 1 year in Tata steel as mining engg. or a job in IBM as programmer will value more?or it doesnot matter!
i m from ITBHU Btech..and i have to make decision b/w these two jobs i have got.and sorry to say but i am not getting convincing answers.

I'm rameez from hyderabad and i did my B com in regular mode in 3 years but due to some reasons i had one subject as my backlog which cleared in the next supplementary exams held specially for this purpose.however i was able to complete my graduation in the normal period of time.Please reply if i'm eligible to apply for SIBM and other B schools under snap.

In the admission brochure there is a note in the CRP placement that only those candidates are applicable for placement who qualify some eligiblity criteria.
Can you plz throw some light here. Arent all the students eligible for placement except the Entreaprenuership guyz????????

The criteria mentioned for Placement Support is for students to take their academics and discipline seriously, it is not meant as a punishment. Don't worry on this front.

I am sorry for this delay as I was out of station for the CWS program. As far as you are concerned the 3 years you have spent in Railways will be considered. You will have to clear SNAP first. It will not be possible to give you last year's papers as per our policy. As far as cutoffs go, there is no fixed number as it will vary from year-to-year depending on student's performance. I wish you the best of luck.

We have this criteria of parent's signature as in most cases it is the parents of students who actually invests in an MBA education. Hence it is imperative that they are convinced of the benefit their wards get when studying in SIBM. Hope this sets your mind at rest. Best of luck.

Don't worry about the SIBM campus as both the campuses have excellent facilities, infact SIBM, Bangalore has a much better campus than Pune has now :). All the facilities which the student community has come to expect at Pune will be available at Bangalore too.

i think they will have a minimum marks for each section just like they have it in jmet
essentially u have to clear all these min marks criterion then they ll go for totl
they r nt expctd to be harsh regarding ind cut off

This year SIBM will have sectional cutoffs and as far as GK goes if you had been keeping tabs on business and general news for the past year and reading books and magazines, it will be a cinch. Best of luck.
