Hey Yaar! How do U even say that...He has been the most successful Captain of India ...our team had the aggression under his captaincy! This ad sure evokes sympathy! What on earth was on his mind when he did this ad!why did he have 2 do that!
Sourav Ganguly's latest ad "Apne Dada ki Baat Manoge Na" Why Oh WHy did he have to do that? Is that a PR building sort of exercise or is it just that Ganguly's contract with Pepsi runs till 2007 and he is obliged to say whatever the Pepsi people want him to say
Whatever it is it sure is a hilarious ad
@NIKHILKULK what was so hilarious bout dat Ad yaar! the thread wud like to know! please,if u can!

Your wish normally wouldn't be my command.... But when given a chance to explain my stance on *Apna Dada* I would rarely back out :D
That ad is hilarious because it is a clear case of contract obligations to me.. It is hilarious to see the man as you yourself have stated to be agressive and one who would not give a damn to anyone on the field or off it say lines as stupid as *Apne Dada ki baat manoge naa* It is hilarious to see the prince trying to sound like a prisoner-in-exile.
I find nothing sympathetic about the ad. The ad makes it sound as if Ganguly was hard done by, which clearly is not the case. Ganguly didnt perform over a long period of time and he was out. When Ganguly went out of the team, everyone had problems with the way it was done rather than why it was donePublic in general has a very short memory and thats where the latest ad tries to cash in by adding emotions to a issue which should have been long buried by now
PS: If anyone can explain to me why he had to do that ad, would be nice

Yes it is hilarious and thats how it does the trick. I loved the self depreciatory humor in that ad,be it intentional or otherwise. Esp a former captain saying ''bhool to nahi gaye na?'' His acting has improved a lot.He says hoo haa India a hundred times better than that gay. Yeah public has very short memory as u said and will be inclined to feel some sympathy It is not about what really happened to him or if he may make a comeback or not. This ad is refreshingly different from the rest of the cola ads.It really has some emotions/humor in it.Helps break the clutter. Tell me Nikhil, wont the recall be better and positively so?
PS: he had to do the same reason that Celebs endorse sanitary napkins, jhadibooti tels, kaphs churan,etc.....PAISA
Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Mysore Sandal Ad. Shewag in Mayur Suiting....... Pan Masala Ad - some of the Pepsi add like Woo ah India... (I dono y they get India into this Cool Drink). If they r encouraging the Cricket. I hope this is not the rite way........ Biscuit ad involving krithik roshan dance and to the most worst cases is the Amitabhachan ad's. I hope in later stage he will cast advertising for Brief's and panties( ) .... Govinda involved in Hair oil ad and some Napkin ad's worst cases.
One dat I found 2 b sick was dat fair n Handsome ad esp. da line ~~~Mard ho kar ladkiyon waali fairness cream~~~ n our numskull had 2 go to a girls dressing room to steal one "ladkiyon waali fairness cream" as if they don't sell it in da shops ! or is a middle age close gaurded secret of girls!:robot: how dumb!
Ive also same opinion regarding this ad. The ad is funny one. Another ad I hate, i.e. the ad of Lux soap, Shahrukh khan in bath tub with beautiful actresses.
Guess they should have some restrictions on such ads...Durex did the same in da past(remember WC 99) n now this.. it's hightime they refrain from doin such things is good publicity though! given the no. of ppl who watch a cricket ODI!
and esp. that ad in which this girl,Richa Pallod accidentely(!) walks into a house lookin 4 a ball...spellbound by the beauty of the tiles, stays dumb struck(!)...the owner (I guess) comes over from behind...she's all surpised and says "Hi!" Guess what ...he replies ~~~OREVA~~~ Oreva tiles Dumb!!!
'Chings Khao' wala Ad is the most irritating one I've seen in a long time. The creators of the Ad probably felt psuedo-Chinese tunes in a nasal tone, would tickle the Indian funny bone. But the result has been.... aaaargh!
Its one those rare ones that force me to reach for the remote control and switch to something more bearable. The recycled classical dance programs on Doordarshan are a million times more bearable in comparison.
COLGATE ACTIVE SALT- Koel Puri barges into the bathroom of a guy with masooda and daant problem with her entire crew.Extols the virtues of Colgate salt.then moves on to the other bathrooms. Thank God they have not applied the same logic in some tissue paper or laxative/isabgol ad.:(
