Hi Guys,

With due permission from the Moderators on this forum , I take the liberty of opening a thread that pertains to the way of Life at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management , New Delhi

I belong to the 2006-2008 batch of LBSIM and today was my first day at the Institute.I had a terrific day with loads of interaction between the Faculty , Seniors and the first year people. But the only thought I lingered in my mind as I left for home today was that LBSIM , true to its image in the Corporate and Students alike , is an Institute that puts great emphasis on Ethics and Transparency. And when each of us were asked "Why LBSIM??" , 99% of us answered "Ethics and Transparency in operation".

But everyone was sure to pitch in with "Good Placements" as the second reason .

The seniors are just great ! As somebody rightly said today , YOU RocKK

This thread will be utilized to put across the way of life we have at LBSIM.And I hope the posters from The Hood , the OLD Thread and rest of the PG junta will pitch in with Inputs and Queries.

Hi Guys,
Two days at LBS & I must say LBS rocks guys.Excellent faculty, best seniors one could ask for & amazing batch.Met all PGites,Akash, saurabh,Venky,Nikhil,Manish & all.
Monday & Tuesday will be hectic with presentations from our seniors.I hope to see some great presentations & summer training experiences.Best of luck to all seniors.

Okk.Two days spent at LBSIM and me still didnt get over the Hang Over
The first thing I did was go to "Harkesh Pehelwaan" (RoadSide Massage wale) and revived my Butt I know I hafta sit through longer durations but How the hell can you do that !:wow: Concentration no issue but then there is a continous nagging feeling that "Get up Ak , take a walk , run if you like "

ANyways , Friday , Saturday were "FOrmal" introductions which gave an idea about the superficial level workin of LBSIM.ON Wednesday methinks I am gonna have a full too session with seniors who'll be providing us with Insights into the Sychee of the faculty. Also some basic doubts like Notice Boards,Clubs,Groups,Lappys,CIDs and "So on and So forth" (Seems to be the BUZZ word at my Institute) !!!

Monday-Tuesday - Will be needin a pillow methinks but then I also have to get a hang of how the presentations are made and delivered plus if I get lucky , I might also get to sit thru the presentations of SOME of the seniors I am looking forward to:)

CID funda is something I found pretty challenging and have already started talking to the industry people I know.

Hectic or Not , I seriously think nobody cares(except a bufoon).Physical stress is far less challenging than the Mental stress that my non existent brain would go through

hey manpreet,
lbs is definetely a better choice than icfai. the placements r any day better. plus, the fee structure of lbs is quite cheap, so even though u have paid 1.6L at icfai, the total cost will still not cross wat u wud have eventually paid in 2yrs in icfai. therefore, in my opinion lbs will be a prudent choice.

Phew Guys....oh Hi Guys

Its been almost a month now from the day i entered the hallowed portals of lbsim, and what a month it has been every days passes like a haze running from a club meeting to a lecture to tea and then back to group meeting for projects;life is a roller coaster ride here.

And what discussions in the class people here know so much about so many things. phew.

This week's highlight was the outreach interviews where a panel of 11 grills each candidate, questions flowing from all direction in all spheres.(Will tell you about the Outreach program in detail in some future post.)

Gotta go now things to do for tonite:

a presentation on Consumer behavior towards web services
two case studies on business ethics,
Eco assignment
Communication presentation on email etiquettes.
an elevator pitch on a online business plan for the ENC cell.

No night for me

Anyways on the brighter side, yours truly have been selected for the
marketing club
Hr club
Entrepreneurship and Consultancy Cell
And Debating Society

PS:Stay tuned in more to come.

Arindam.

So how do I start writing this? I felt like a traveller foregoing unexplored grounds, too eager for the journey to begin. I was overwhelmed with mixed emotions when I thought of it. The wait was long, as if someone has been lined up in a queue for ages. But I was happy to bear the fruits of patience which would ripe-out in future and help me scale unparalleled heights. I was so optimistic
So should I plan for this journey in advance; I asked myself one day, and my soul said No! I was waiting to just dive-in and then learn at the place. I wanted to be like a first time swimmer being pushed into a pool, who by the means of his struggle and enthusiasm makes his way through. And of course, the learning is immense in this setup. You get out satisfied and content that your hard work has paid off. You have the craft to face unexpected challenges.
14th June embarked upon me an aura of excitement, nervousness and positivity of being part of a premier business institute. That was a feeling, just a nave thought. But the reality turned out to be more serene and placid. I was astounded and gratified by the Principles of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and his devotion and the place where I have planned to study for the next two years gave me his noble fragrance. The value system was so strong that I could feel it on the first day. I was humbly appreciative of the eminent faculty members as they introduced themselves. Years of experience, insurmountable qualifications and still no signs of high-headedness. This place surely exuberated modesty and courteousness.
Students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds met at one place, eager to know about the proceedings. With diverse I mean a whole sundry of inquisitive minds, stretching across the breadth of our country. Too fervent to socialize among each other and make new bonding.
The Directors address and informative guest lecture really boosted my decision to join the institute. The stress upon development in rural parts of our country, helping the poor and downtrodden - envisaged empathy and compassion. A long list of laurels to carry along, the institute seemed to have successfully cemented pillars of societal responsiveness, morality, efficiency and excellence through 15 years of its establishment.
Happiness becomes multiplicative when reality exceeds expectations. This was the feeling which empowered me during the return journey on Metro; and it seeped in further the next day. I felt blessed to have joined Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management. There should be no comparisons. This place bred the co-existence of humanity and education. Yes, this was my place! Yes, this is it!
