[2020-2022] [Official] SIBM Pune Admissions

hey guys

i have been calling and asking this query for some time but i am still confused about how to go about it.
I had an additional subject of hindi in my 10th standard.so i had 6 subjects.
CBSE board generally considers 5 subjects for calculating the aggregate of class 10th.
when i was filling SNAP form , the snap team told me to write all 6 subjects as "we dont give importance to the 10th score , but only graduation score"

while filling the SIBM-P form i had the same query n called up the admn office repeatedly and got different replies everytime.
sometimes i was told to include all 6 subjects
sumtimes that i should 5 only as CBSE considers only 5
n sumtimes i was told that inspite of the fact that CBSE considers 5 , i have to fill all 6 only because i had filled all 6 in the SNAP form.

I just realized that i can change the values i have mentioned in the SNAPTEST form.
I dont know what should i do n how should i go about it

The reason why i am harping about the same thing so many times is because it will bring down my class 10 agg from a 92% to an 86%
This could cost me a seat.
KINDLY HELP ASAP PLEASE

@wheresthebell We shall get back to you after we get an official reply from the authorities. Do not worry, if there's any confusion for which you are not accountable for, the institute shall do all it can to make sure you are not affected.

Bro..No Offence meant. But did you say the same thing or gonna say the same thing when you filled/fill XAT form and applied separately to XLRI ( the body conducting XAT exam ). It all depends upon colleges. And nobody forces anyone to apply. Its absolutely an individual choice. Thanks.
@shivacharanudi Kindly do not indulge in a smear campaign without being cognizant about the processes that are involved in a B-School, Placements, etc.

We have among the best in class placements, which can be cross-verified by you by getting in touch with alumni, students, etc. Look up in LinkedIn, you'll find SIBM Pune alumni among the top rung in all corporate houses. Follow Facebook pages of companies, you'll find SIBM Pune among the top 10 or 15 colleges they visit for recruitment.

There are certain restrictions regarding sharing details about placements, and this applies to ALL B-Schools. Not because we're afraid, or we don't want to. It's because we're bound my agreements with companies that come for recruitment, NOT to divulge any details about the salaries or profiles they offer. These are issues that aspirants are not aware of, cannot understand.

SNAP, is an entrance exam. Symbiosis, is a University. SIBM Pune is a separate institute. You write XAT, and you apply separately for XLRI, XIMB. You even pay separate fees for applying for separate programs in XLRI. The same applies here.

No one forces anyone to apply to any B-School. If you aren't convinced, you have the option of not applying. All the best!

ok..then plz temme abt investment banking profiles...which company offers this in sibm punei

@shivacharanudi We have alumni and students, working in Investment Banking profiles, in some of the big financial firms. You can find our list of recruiters here:
@wheresthebell SNAP & SIBM Pune consider all the subjects and their respective marks that are listed on your marksheet. Unless you have an official document from CBSE stating that you can include the 5 subjects of your choice, we would be considering all your 6 subjects.

Hi,
I appreciate your concern. Unfortunately, on public forums like Pagalguy open comparisons between two colleges are a strict no-no. Please stick to PM for such comparisons. I would be more than happy to oblige. :)

Hi!
It is advisable to include all the 6 subjects that you have. As far as I know, CBSE provides only some basic passing criteria based on the 6th subject and not the rules for calculating final percentage aggregates. It is certainly safer that way. Besides, evaluators always want a complete picture of your +2 performance, and if your mark-sheet includes scores of the 6th subject, odds are that it WILL be taken into consideration when documentary proofs are submitted.
My advice, stick to all 6.
Cheers!

hey i m in the final yr of my distance learning journalism n mass communication course..i read on snap site tht distance learning graduates r elligible too.....will it pose any problem in gd n pi??
As long as your eligibility for the process is cleared, and you have valid documentary proof for the same, there should not be any issue. Please go through the separate eligibility criteria of each college that you apply to, though, since your query is specific to the GD-PI process.
@DanRay - You are absolutely right Sir , Thanks a lot :)
@DanRay thnx it helped

@yogu1989 To begin with, the fee at both the institutions is comparable. The difference is very, very trivial. Next, comparisons between B-Schools aren't allowed on this forum. Kindly PM me, would be glad to help.

On a general note, how to go about gauging a B-School:

1) How strong is the alumni base? - A good alumni base means greater connect between the industry and the institution. Alumni not only help mentor students while in B-Schools, but throughout one's career. If a B-School has an alumni base of 3 to 4 decades or greater, then there are 3-4 decades of batches you can network with and have guidance for throughout your professional career.

2) How good is the culture in a B-School? - This is the most important. How open is the B-School, how receptive is it to individualism, what extent of freedom is enjoyed, etc are a few of the factors that constitute the culture in a B-School.

3) Infrastructure - A great learning atmosphere is very essential. Most B-Schools would have the basic infrastructure like libraries, auditoriums, etc in place, but beyond that, is what is called 'ambience'. By this, I do not necessarily mean lush greenery, gyms, swimming pools and scenic settings, but how these various architectural and natural elements sync together with the pedagogy, competency and culture to offer a rich, unforgettable experience for 2 years that will transform and elevate one as an individual and a leader.

4) Placements - Crucial. But if the above 3 factors are right, then placements would be top-class naturally.

@DanRay :I got ur point....but i am in a dilemma which to pick while filling the form....n i hv to go for only one college....i am not telling ki dis college is bad comapared to this colleges....juz wanted to know which one has an additional point +1 .......if i hv to go for only 1???
@VenkataramanR :cn u tel me whts ur experience as of now as a SIBMian..............??

Can anyone throw light on foreign graduates nri pio oci admission? Do they participate in placement what is average profile and fees for that category?
