If one gets a call from SIBM,does he/she gets to select the date for the GD-PI? Seniors, please help.. Also, if anyone else knows please let me know.. PLEASE.....
Yes, as per trends in the past years you have to select the slot and the day for your GE/PI between the given dates :)
@DanRay I am a fresher and so have no experience. In the online form, I am unable to leave the experience tab blank and submit the form. A red mark appears on the experience tab rather than a green tick. What do I do?
Try typing NA in that field else try after some time...that should work...
Hi All,Ok I have only 1 question and only the seniors can answer it, I have more than 3 years of work experience, is there any point in joining SIBM, if I apply, will I get appropriate placement oppurtunities, if I join in. I am working outside India, so is there any point doing my MBA from SIBM. I would really appreciate it if some one could answer my query as this is causing a lot of problem to me.THNX.
Well depends on what do you wanna do in your future... When it comes to SIBM then we are talking about one of the best institutes in India providing MBA...placements are more like 100% with the average salary being 11.61 lacs p.a. last year.. So joining SIBM Pune will be great for you career...
P.S. If you have a decent CTC then instead of general mba you can go for executive mba after 1-2 years...
@aj4567 Specialization is chosen in the first semester itself, a 45 day window is given to choose the specialization. During the window, there are several counselling options that would help a student narrow down his/her interests and competencies in Finance/Marketing/Operations/HR and choose one accordingly.
The specialized approach towards domain right from first semester is one of the USPs of SIBM Pune, and we're popular among the recruiters for this aspect.
While filling the form for SIBM Pune, I have filled in all the details pertaining to my personal info and educational details. Being a fresher, I have no work experience (and have already selected NO to any work experience) but the form is showing I need to fill the experience details before I proceed to submit the application.
I have even received an email stating that my application is incomplete. What am I supposed to enter in all the Experience Fields ie Name Of Organisation, Designation, Nature Of Job etc. All the above fields are marked with an asterisk! :/
Also, unlike the form for SCMHRD, there is no option to Submit application.

@VenkataramanR , How gud is Operations in SIBM.. I am an aspirant having approx 30 months of work ex in operations.. I mean what kind of companies visit for operations profile & presently what batch strength r in operations..
@DanRayHi,This with regards to your post.I have a small query, till last year SNAP had separate cut offs mentioned for admission for all colleges. eg 92 last year for SIBM.Now, whether I get 93 or 115 (say), it does not make a difference, since I am sure to be given a call for GD/PI.But, now that its percentile system, considering the same scenario as above, 115 will be 100%ile but 93 may be a 85-90%ile.Will the calls still be given??PS: sorry if it sounds confusing.Regards.
This is the first time SNAP is coming in with percentile scores, so I can just give you my opinion (which comes with no guarantee ;)) The percentile scores will function in the same way as the numerical scores function, it's just that instead of comparing the numerical scores, the institutes will make a comparison on the basis of your percentile. This CANNOT affect the intake or the process of the college, so the number of people any college, say, SIBM Pune calls in will remain the same. If SIBM wanted to call 500 people for GD/PI (just an example) last year and they fit into a score range of 91.75 to 180, then the cut-off would be set at 91.75. This time, if the given 500 people fall in the percentile range of 100 to 96, then the cut of will be set at the 96th percentile. So, as far as I know, it shouldn't change the competitiveness or the number of calls. I repeat, there are no Sectional cut-offs. I hope I wasn't confusing.
Your work-experience profile of three years will not have any severe effect on your MBA prospects. As far as the placement goes, I must repeat that despite whatever misgivings you might have based on the half-informed opinions of people (because I have noticed that there are MANY, at least on Pagalguy), we ARE a AAA college which figures in the top 15 list of almost ALL ranking websites, or surveys. We have great placement opportunities, as shown by the clear placement reports on our website. SIBM Pune has a separate quota for NRI candidates, which is over and above the merit based intake. You might want to look into the same before applying. Cheers! :)

And Yes it was NOT at all Confusing. In fact Super Clear.
Lastly,
I have not taken any classes as such for MBA prep, but have enrolled for test series by TestFunda.
Can you please advice me what should a good attempt in each section in SNAP for a call from SIBM-Pune. (My GK is not good at all, in fact I rate it as horrible)
I have a work experience of 2 years, will that be an added advantage by any chance.?
