puys, please help....i have the book "101 Ethical Dilemmas" by Martin Cohen....i have read a few pages.....but i really cant understand how is it helpful to us....what do we gain from it and what type of questions does it help solving.....i hope i have the same book that everyone talks about....first it has the dilemmas and then there is the discussion part....

To put an end to all Ur worries, I am posting this official update i got from the concerned authorities....
Well, If your Appl status shows " Appl under processing" and the admit card login shows "Invalid details entered" then you must not worry as the Admit card has not been generated yet....They said that they have STARTED uploading the Admit cards and not finished with the process....
You might wanna keep checking for the Admit card till 31st Dec'10.
As a last resort, If the admit card does not show up at all, you can take the copy of payment receipt....and submitted form for XAT along with 2 photo ids and still appear for the exam....
So not to worry puys....just keep ur preps up.....in no case you wud be denied to write the exam provided you have not goofed up miserably somewhere in the application process...(which shud not be the case for anyone...!)

To add to that. I had a talk with the XLRI admission office. They told me that there are number of cases which are still pending. These cases ( including mine) are refereed to admission committee n they r in process of allotting centers. The update will be out by 29th evening. So no worries. I fact if is does not happen by 29th im planning to go to XLRI office in person. Interested people can accompany me

I Don't think so. GK has not appeared atleast in last 3 papers. I don't see any chance of GK this year. But then also if somebody has the official word about only 3 sections and no GK. Do tell him.

Dude, try IE6 and above to download admit card. U'll have no problem.
People here are talking about the book 101 ethical dilemmas. I don't think that book is useful for XAT. The questions that come in XAT are practical scenarios where ethics are not the thing being tested or atleast not the only thing being tested. Last yr there was a set that was an exact recounting of the ICC-BCCI-WADA-Indian Players issue that was in the news and the questions that were their did not test ur ethical leanings. For XAT type decision making read up on the argumentative articles that come in HT or HINDU or the economist etc.
Let me phrase a question.
Recently, an organisation leaksorg has managed to get its hands on some confidential documents pertaining to a government organisation, these documents were purportedly acquired by hacking into the accounts of various high ranking officials . The organisation's owners know that leaking the documents could jeopardize the fate of the government, but the majority in the organisation is of the view that the documents are about public issues and should be released so that the people can know about the gross irregularities committed in dealing with sensitive issues, also the opposition leaders have been taken into confidence and they have promised to launch a agitation to coincide when the documents are revealed. The organisation finally releases the documents. The documents clearly indict some key members of the ruling party and also unearth some uncharitable comments that various leaders had made about some well known celebrities.Internally, The government is now taking the issue of the leaks seriously and has decided to call a meeting of the ruling coalition to sort out matters, though public-ally it has refused to either refute or confirm that the documents are its own. The media is up in arms over the issue and also the support of large portion of the educated people who account for a small but influential part of the electorate is with the organisation. The general elections are also coming up in a month's time.
Q1.) The government has finally chalked out a course to address the issue. In order to get a short term advantage in the elections what action would be best suited.
A.) Move the court to seek a ban on the organisation under the guise of a defamation case while remaining non committal on the truth about the documents.
B.) Label the act as a doing of the opposition to gain political mileage and thus deny the veracity of the documents.
C.) Accept that the documents are true and constitute a committee to look into the accusations against the culprits.
D.) Remain silent and thus automatically reduce the claims of the organisation.
E.) Unearth similar documents implicating the leaders of the previous government and thus claim that the opposition has no right to claim the higher moral ground.
This question is part of whole set that me and my friends made but I am too lazy to type the rem ques.
P.S For the record I am making such comments about the book bcoz I used it last yr to no effect and I left XLRI"s PMIR course after being selected and was wait listed in the BM course so I know a bit about XAT.XAT 2010(99.76%ile)

dude explanations are given at the back . do check out. besides its it is not a foolproof study book for xat . it ll just get ur head ringing thats all
