GATE 2020 Syllabus Updated: Biomedical Engineering gets new paper

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 exam, which wil be held in February next year has got its syllabus updated with the introduction of a new paper in Biomedical Engineering. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi will hold the examination on February 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th, 2020.

This change in syllabus has been done to bring the undergraduate syllabus of Biomedical Engineering among many universities under one roof. This would also help in enhancing the growth of research and product development in the country, said a statement from IIT Madras, which held the GATE last year. Application can be made online through the official websitehttp://gate.iitd.ac.in/. September 24th is the last deadline to apply.

The exam will now be conducted in 25 subjects. They include – Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering among others.

How to apply for GATE 2020?

The Application Form of GATE 2020 exam will be released on Sep 3rd, 2019. Candidates should register and fill the application form online. The complete application process consists of – Online Registration, filling up the application form, followed by uploading of documents and taking a print out of the necessary documents for future references.

Meanwhile, Prof M Manivannan, organiser of the meeting observed that despite IIT Madras had organised the event, credit goes to all the other IITs. He also said that this was a team effort.
