As for performance with a top notch graphics card, unless you are one of those hard-core professional gamers who overclocks their chips and RAMs,you'll notice only a slight performance when it comes to AMD over Intel
My personal recommendation? Unless you already have an Intel system, dont buy anything for a while say 6months. Then Intel's Conroe hits the market and we'll see a definite cut in prices for the regular chips

well i am not that hardcore a gamer.. but i do play a lot of racing games which are graphics hungry. besides even if amd does not offer a significant advantage, it will be cheaper.. wat say ?
i am currently using a 2.4ht desktop and am pretty happy with the performance
cheers

guys
Have a look at this website http://www.zenith-india.com/2005/interest_buy.asp
what do u have to say abt the 38 k laptop.
Its got a intel centrino processsor, wifi enabled 256 ram n so on.
I think its a gr8 deal considering the fact that a similar acer laptop would cost u around 43k and an hp compaq cums for around 48 k.
Hows the after sales services?
I am planning to buy the 38 k laptop,I think its called stratergist, what do ya guys say? PUMBA: India's finest, autonomous, university department bschool...

Umm, looks like a decent laptop. They havent mentioned anything about weight or battery life , again 256Mb is a tad low and so is the 40GB disk. Also I am not sure Zenith has great products. I know they are decently priced and all that but I distinctly remember a friend telling me that the Zenith Desktops used to overheat quite a bit. There still havent been any benchmarks for the Zenith laptops atleast as far as i know and since Intel processors the FSB seems kinda low though good going with the 2Mb cache!
How about a low end Toshiba prolly only slightly more expensive than this and almost the same config?

Any idea about the cost of Laptops if one buys them from mainland China ... Xinxiang Provience.
And are the brands available there along with the Global Warrantee. All views my own...expressed with reference to the context of the impending pre MBA entrance interview.

any clues on the Brands which retail in the mainland.... most of the brands have a website which has a page in Mandarin but .. I could really not get a quote for a configuration.
