hi Apurv

just read all ur posts-- i really really wana do alot not just for the gas victims but other needful ppl as well. coz wot i now see is that gas victims are getting all the help in every aspect from government, NGOs and the media.

i dunno alot about community service-- but living in the city is telling me that problems like bad school education at govt school is making more n more dropouts for slum kids with not much future, slow or no growth of industries in this region is not helping the downtroddens with hardly any opportunities for jobs.
and all they land up at age of 16years onwards is as chaiwallahs, city bus-conductors...

CAT is on 20th november and till then can we discuss about things rather than do some fieldwork?
u can count on me for next 6months for being here n hopefully we can pursue more bhopali PGites to join in.

Apurv as u said --u arent in bhopal anymore? is that right?

To ashish and everybody else,

Just so as to clear a misunderstanding here, I left Bhopal 4 months ago. Sitting here in Mumbai, I cannot do community service in Bhopal.

But since I was working as a journalist with a major english newspaper in Bhopal, I have several close contacts in various NGOs, which I can pass on to anybody living in Bhopal who is enthusiastic about doing community service there. It is upto that person to find more like-minded people to start a community service initiative and sustain it.

Passing on my contacts is all I can do. If anybody is interested, PM me.
