Hey All,
First a quick intro. I am Uday - Working at Oracle, Hyd. Joined very recently, on Friday, the 14th! Got to know abt PG from deepthi's blogs. Dankyu deepthi!
A bunch of us went to MVF kast thursday to meet them. The bunch being Subbu, Amit, Preethi, Omkar, two mahesh's who werent from PG and ofcourse moi meme (for the uninitiated, thats me myself
)
Anyways, we met Mr Venkata Reddy, Co-ordinator and also Mr Dhananjay, Trng Incharge.
The amt of passion these guys have is supppperb, simply amazing!
We (MVF and PG) shortlisted a few areas in which we could work with them. Amit has the whole list, but a few things I can remember offhand are:
1. Newsletter - 2 issues to be given to them in a few days.
2. Helping their volunteers (teachers) with English Language classes.
3. Go on a field trip and spend time with kids - Tell them inspirational stories or teach them something non-academic like Astronomy.
4. These folks r active in some govt run hostels. They thot it might be a good idea to do the same (pt no 3) at these places as well.
5. They wanted us to help them find out about other NGOs which have similar beliefs / non-negotiables.
I also went for the B'lore meet. Had a gr8 time there!
The B'lore Comm Service thing has taken off. They're working with an orphanage. They found out the things that are reqd by the orphanage (like black boards, mattresses etc) and are buying it for them.
So guys n gals, whats next?
