can anybody help me how to get to the solution of the following....i know the answer but not the method........plzzzz......HELP!!
1) Consider the following statements:
Albert: Dave did it.
Dave: Tony did it.
Gug: I did not do it.
Tony: Dave lied when he said that i did it.
(a)If only one out of all above statements is true, who did it?
(b)If only one out of all above statements is false, who did it?
Problem from George Summers - (After Dinner Drink) on page 14.
Fodder, Pepsi, and Cola often eat dinner out.
(i) Each orders either tea or coffee after dinner.
(ii) If Fodder orders Coffee, then Pepsi orders the drink that Cola orders.
(iii) If Pepsi orders coffee, then Fodder orders the drink that Cola doesn't order.
(iv) If Cola orders tea, then Fodder orders the drink that Pepsi orders.
Who do you know always orders the same drink after dinner?
2)

Re: Shakuntala Devi -

the solution is
let the min to 6'o clock be 'x'.
these 'x' min were 4 times that many min past 3'o clock(read the sentence properly),fifty min ago, to the present time..
now the equation would be, (6-3)60-50-x=4x =>130=5x =>x=26 min.

Could someone plz explain the solution to Shakuntala Devi's ninth problem i.e:
We all know that the hour hand and the minute hand on a clock travel at different speeds. However, there are certain occasions when they are exactly opposite to each other. Can you give a simle formula for calculating the times of these occasions?
I read the solution given in the book but cudn't get it. Could ne one explain it in a simpler way?
