x -- 50 == 2x -- 150 and x= 100 steps.

xplain a lil more .I think striking 7, the gap is 7 ??? so 1 sec each so for 10 answer will be 10.

For 7 o clock, the clock will strike 7 times. The gap between 1 strike and the other is waht causing the time. Hence for 7 strikes, it has 6 gaps and so on. In these type of problems, this is the methodology.

m lil dumb at quant so can you plz let me know y time taken by B will be 25t. I dont seem to understand.

The problem says that A takes 50 steps and B takes 75 steps while the escalator is moving down. Given that the time taken by A to take 1 step is equal to time taken by B to take 3 steps. If we assume t as time for A to take 1 step, then in the same time of t B will complete 3 steps. Hence as B has to take 75 steps, time needed will be 75/3 t= 25t. Hope it is clear now.
