hii there.... i dunno if m rite or not but i think the question shud b ' least amount tht mother can get' rather than how much did the mother get...
the answer m getting is Rs 1024... if its correct then u can read further otherwise just ignore... my mistake mebbe
let mother gets Rs. a , then each daughter gets 2a and each son gets 6a
so eqn. becomes: a + 2a*n + 6a*m = 1,92,000 where n= no. of daughters, m =no. of sons
tht is: a*(1+2n+6m) = 1,92,000 = 2^10 * 3 * 5^4 where ^ denotes raise to the power
now since the term inside the bracket is odd, 'a' shud cancel out even part in RHS.... so 'a' shud b atleast 2^10=1024........ let 'a' be 1024*x where x is some variable
1024*x*(1+2n+6m)=1,92,000 .....
x*(1+2n+6m)= 3* 5^4
now for any integer value of 'x' , there is no unique soln. for 'm' and 'n'..... and hence the minimum amount tht mother shud get is Rs 1024
cheerz
