Hi,
Mamuly here. I am yet to start a hard core preps for CAT 2009.
Would b great if anyone suggests some good books for DI/DS & Maths practice.
The materials from Coaching Institutes have very few practise papers, so require a book to practise DI/Ds and Maths on an urgent note.

For LR-DI you can use Arun Sharma's book though it might not be suffice from practice point of view. I always used only coaching class materials. Other puys may like to help us out in this.
Regarding maths:-
You can look into last year's threads and even this year Official quant thread.
Official quant thread for CAT 2009 (official quant thread for CAT 2009)
I would recommend Kundan and Pandey for quant preparation.
Arun sharma is good for conceptual learning but not for practice.

i would say lr/di comes with practice
so more you practice the more you get better at it
get hold of some previous years papers (which you can find from the net) and get started

@Navneet...You are old enough on PG to know that this thread belongs to Quant section and shouldnt be opened on CAT section.
Moving thread to apt section. All the best.

Re: CAT 2009 LR-DI Thread -

I propose following for starting with this thread:-
1) Post queries for certain types of questions and others solve it within a stipulated period of time.
2) Senior puys sharing their experiences with us and help us out with shortcuts and methods for solving some specific types of questions.
3) Posting links (which are in line with PG rules) which can be used to access study material for LR-DI.
4) Sharing last years' questions and some other exam questions.
Please tell if this way could be sufficient for this thread.

i believe that would be suffice....so when we people are going to start work out on this plan?
i hav a small query.till now i havn't solved many DI/LR questions, some months ago i had tried to solve some sets from prev yr CAT paper, was able to solve some sets but that consumed too much time.so would it be advisable to go direct on solving questions or 1st i shud start with basics???

Well, this is the only section where every question is different and has a unique way of solving. I mean, you don't have to learn much before you start solving them.
BTW, can you please post those question you faced difficulties with? We start now ..right now... no point in delaying things.
