A. 6 meters
B. 8 meters
C. 8.75 meters
D. None of the above

acc to me by Pythagoras,we can get the height from the top of the ladder to the foot of the wall...
it would a ryte angled triangle,we '' get 24 as the height

and then acc to ques

we many take the 7+x +12^2=25^2
x=14.9
my answer...none of dese

corredt anser is 8.75..its from IIFT 2008........

To find length AC of triangle ACE consider triangle ABC
Now, drop perpendicular from point B to meet sideAC at point M

Now AM = AB*sin60 = root3/2*AB
Since, AC = 2*AM => AC = 2*ROOT3/2*AB=root3*a (a isside of hexagon)

hope it clears...

Time and distance: Source :T.I.M.E - 04-07-2009, 11:57 PM

Hi guys,,

1)R and S are competing a race 1000m race.R gives saleem a head stat of 200m,but his speed is twice that of S.When R reaches the 600m mark,R reduces his speed by half but still beats S by 20 sec.What is S's speed?

ans is 5m/s.

2)In a Km race,R beats S by one minute and S beats T by 30 sec.If R beats T by 250m in the same race,find te time taken by R torun the race.

ans is 270sec.

Please help me by giving the solutions.

Speed of R= 2s
Time taken by R= t=600/2s + 400/s
Distance covered by S in this time= 200+st=900

So remaining 100 m in 20 secs...speed of s= 100/20= 5m/sec

600/2s+400/s+20 = 800/s

solve for s =5m/s
