after 72 hrs it will be showing the correct time(that is what is asked).
so no need of calcolating actual time past.

If it would have asked only for the actual time,it would not have give the options in a.m and p.m.....As am and pm are given,so we hav to find out the actual time
PS:A clock does not show am and pm........

my understanding is -> the question asks for wat actual time it will be when the clock shows the correct time value ( i.e. between 1-12).
So when we say 72 hours, all conditions are taken care of, why do we need to add another12 hrs again? calculations are on actual time thoughout... so is the answer...

The clock will show the correct time after it loses 12 hours.........So to lose 12 hrs it needs 72 hrs......So when 72 hrs have passed,it is the same time showing rite??Because 12 hours are to be deducted frm it......I think you are right!!!...Good work!!!

Also, as mentioned by dillipmina , a clock does not show am & pm.
But to be a li'l more precise, the actual time will be 1 a.m. Wednesday, while the clock shows 1 p.m. Tuesday.
IMO answer options should have only actual time values.

Yup...but clock questions are based normally on the analog clocks.
So i think it should be 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

If it were digital, the clock would have to lose 24 hrs and hence it would show the correct time after 144 hrs i.e. 6 days = Saturday 1 a.m.
