Right...infact that's what you get by simplifying too...i took the last term as x instead of 1/x, so ended up with a 0 in fornt of the x term, which I guess was given as the correct answer before the errata...so my total now drops down to 46.

Ok, I have marked 12 greens here that you should have given a shot at, and 7 of these have already been deciphered by you as easy. Ignore the 4 in yellow.
I think the main issue I see in your case is of not reading and comprehending the problem correctly and understanding what needs to be done. Please don't go into an exam with excess baggage of past experiences. if [x] problem in QQAD was hard, you at least could have spent a minute in understanding what needed to be done with 18. I suggest you keep your pencil off the paper for 45 seconds and understand the problem statement well for questions you are in doubt. The examiner is not your enemy, he will test your nerves with all kind of things and you have to outsmart the paper by showing guts to attack it. Lead the paper the way you want rather than considering it a 50 minute load.

Increasing skill set + practicing varied problems is something that is necessary. Read the solution of problems in Green and you will realize how much better you could have performed in this test. Aur haan, bachpam mein zero-kaanta nahin khela kya, Tic-Tac-Toe angrezi mein usey bolte hain.

The one in RED is blunder and as I said above you need to show more spunk here. IIMs mein ja rahe ho yaar, pass out hone ke baad tarah tarah ke logon aur situations ko manage karna hai, attitude abhie se daal lo, will help a lot.

Re: CAT 2008: QQAD Practice Test Discussions - 21-08-2008, 09:13 PM

Hi Mr.Aarav,

I can't submit this kinda .xls file as my m-office 2007 key had expired . So I'm just writing the Qs i got correct are: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,11,12,14,15,17,18,19,23,25

Wrong: 8,10,13,16.....stupid to mark 8,13,16 wrong.......but in 10 i marked c......because I thought of S as a set consisting only 0 and X (any number)....so 0 is an element of S and X+0=X is also an element of S. So rest other options might not be true. Please clarify my doubt.

Thanks in advance!!

Aarav yaar i was, frankly speaking, disappointed with the paper... it felt like i was solving just another mock cat..
The topics chosen for questions were good, infact some of my favourites: invariants, game strategies, etc..
but what was really dissapointing was that the questions were quite easy & did not involve that surprise element for which im a fan of qqad.

nehow cutting the crap, i attempted around 15 questions in 40 min n except for the 2 combinatorics qns, did not use a pen for ne other qn (cud not coz i solved all other qns while travelling in a local train in mumbai @ 10.30 pm)

got 2 wrong. so total score is 50.

EDIT: oops miscalculated: one wrong in 15 attempt. total 55. same as last time

Hi!
The answer to Q14 is d?? IF so then my score is 44 ( all 11 correct).
Need to work hard. Should have answered 15-16 questions.

I still can't believe I messed up so many questions...by not attempting

10A 9C 1W = 35
There were at least 4 more questions for the taking...

I am feeling guilty posting this after having read all the scores.
