Re: official quant thread for cat08 - 09-06-2008, 12:44 PM

ans is d)

There are 12 married females who are above 25.- 1
using,
[19 are above 25 years, of which 7 are males]

and

from [
24 software engineers are above 25 years of age] & [ 12 males are above 25 years]

we can say that there are 24-12 =12 females who are above 25 yrs

Now all of these 12 females should have also got married [From 1]

By the way , This has already been discussed about in the QQAD thread .

Cheers!

(A) 12 (B) 8 (C) 7 (D) 0 (E) 11
The answer is (D) 0 females.
If you observe closely, you'll see that all the females above 25 years (which comes to 12) are married. So no unmarried female will be remaining.

There are two cubes A and B. Each of it is cut into 64 pieces. From the front face of cube A cubes on both the diagonal are removed. Same is repeated with Cube B. Now Cube A is placed over cube B to form a rectangular cuboid and painted black.
1. The no. of cubes that are not painted black?
2. The no. of cubes that are one side painted black?
3. The no. of cubes that are two sides painted black?
4. The no. of cubes that are three sides painted black
