Amrita hosted a birthday party and invited all her friends and asked them to invite their friends.There are n people in the party.Only Satyam is not known to Amrita.Each pair that does not include Amrita or Satyam has exactly 2 common friends.Also,Satyam knows everyone except Amrita.If only 2 friends can dance at a time,how many dance numbers will be there at the party?

a)3n-7

b)2n+5

c)4n-3

d)none of these

cogito,ergo,sum...........

according to me:

ANS: d>none of these

there would be (n-2)/2 definite pairings, hence (n-2)/2 dance numbers because of the condition. However Amr, Sat cant form a pair coz pairing only between friends. so what happens to them?

cheers,
TGS

At this point, each boy had exactly the number of marbles he had started with, and Dravid had twice as many marbles as Sachin. How many marbles did

Here let marbles with Sachin=x
and with dravid=y=2x

Dravid lost a game to Sachin and had to give Sachin half of his marbles. In the second game, Sachin lost and had to give three-fourths of his marbles to Dravid, who now had thirty marbles

At the end or game1,

dravid= x
sachin=2x

At the end of gamw 2,
sachin=0.5x
dravid=2.5x

now 2.5x=30
thus, x= 30divided by 2.5=12
