In an attempt to find out the relative popularity of the three sports ,SAI collected the number of students enrolled for each of these three sports and found that, a students enrolled for hockey, b students enrolled for football and c for cricket.
WHO, on its part, collected the data regarding the number of sports enrolled for by each of the 100 students and found that, d students had enrolled for exactly one sport, e students for exactly two sports, f students for exactly three sports and g students had not enrolled for any of the three sports.
Q1) if d>e>f and c is less than a as well as b , what is the maximum possible value of c ?
1)63 2)64 3)65 4)66 5)None of these.
Q2)If a,b,c,d,e,f and g are all distinct natural numbers, the minimum possible number of students who enrolled for at least one sport is
1)9 2)10 3)11 4)13 5)None of these.
Q3)If a+b+c = 100, the number of the students who enrolled for none of the three sports is at most...
1) 30 2)66 3)68 4)52 5)50
Will post the answer tomorrow. | My take:
1.(3)
2.(5) Take d=1,e=3,f=4 & a=5, b=6,c=7. This gives 8.
3.(2) Take a=34, b=33, c=33. And f=33. So, d=1.
So, g=100-33-1=66. | | | | | | | |

In recenlt played 20-2- tournament, 6 teams participated.The schedule of the tournament was such that every team had to lay every other team 12 times.Points were awarded for W(wins),L(loss),T(tie).The following chart gives the number of matches won, lost& tied by diff teams.
Q1.How many W,L and T combinations are possible for team SouthAfrica?
a.3
b.4
c.1
d.2
e.none
Q2.If 5 points are awarded for each win , -3 for each loss,& 2 points for each tie,then what is the max. possible diff b/w the thrid team & third last team.,if we rank them according to their points in descending order?

e.none. | for first question ans
win=102+P
loss=158+Q
tie=40+R
so total=300+P+Q+R
total matches=360
but here win=loss so
win=158+p
loss=158+q
tie=40+r
so total=356+p+q+r
p+q+r=4
if r=0 then p=q=2
r=1 not possible because p not equal to q
r=2 then p=q=1
r=3 not possible
r=4 then p=q=0
so total 3 cases possible
Not sure for question 2
but ans for second question is 12?
