We are pleased to announce the start of 2nd edition of Quant Question a Day for CAT 2007. The regulars here are well aware of the 1st edition that was ran for close to 9 months ending November first week last year. The purpose of Quant Question a day (QQAD) is simple - to help CAT aspirants solve quality question(s) daily and develop skills in quant to tame the dreaded CAT.

You will have to subscribe to our Newsletter to receive the daily question. The question will be delivered in your mailboxes in the morning, starting from April 16. As like last year, the discussion will take place on the thread opened here, and the official solution to the problem will come next day with the new problem. The 1st person to crack the problem in given day will find his/her name mentioned in next day's Newsletter.

At the height of problem solving mania, QQAD threads would have more than 1000 views daily and it managed to cross 10000 subsciber list in the 1st year itself. QQAD will take off on April 16 and will run unintterupted till 2/3 weeks before CAT 2007. 264 questions were delivered last year, even 3 questions were delivered in a day for weeks when junta had demanded for it. I'm attaching the pdf which contains all the questions that appeared last year. The work of compiling the problems was done by QQAD's regular users of last year. We are sincerely thankful to them for all their effort.

With the time-constraint I faced last year, regulars will vouch for the fact that I ended up doing a fair job in driving the threads. As much funda-building as possible was done and doubts cleared during the discussions on the threads.
I would have loved to be more visible here now also, but alas I fear time wouldn't permit me to do that.

The baton of driving QQAD discussions passes on to a person who in my opinion is the best student of Quant on PG. He was a regular on QQAD, and one of the few who would crack even the toughest of QQAD problem (some were real hard!!) with quite some ease. Vineet will design most of the questions that will be delivered to you. I will chip in with my contribution of problems as well. My problems will be verified by Vineet and his would be verified by me before we deliver it you. This would double-check the problems delivered to the subscribers. Vineet would assume the role of a mentor here, though I'm sure a humble person like him would always want to see himself only as a student of Mathematics. It is very difficult to be in the role Vineet is taking. But, real Heros have always been 100 percentilers in when it comes to fulfilling the expectations of so many people. I wouldn't praise him much, as his work will speak louder than my words.

Success is always judged by the results - this has always been our mantra. We will try our best to ensure that each one of you who solve QQAD problems do very well in the quant section of CAT 2007. This was the aim last year and this would always be the end aim in future as well.

So, QQAD is back. The best thread on PG atleast for me. I would like to urge all maths lovers and especially cat 2007 aspirants (may be myself also) to sincerely follow this thread. This thread simply rocks.

Thanks a lot Aarav for presenting this opportunity and a privilege to say the least .
I know it is a work cut out for me to come even somewhere close to you in maintaining standards in every respect on this thread and i will try my best to live up to that .

Puys , i would like u all to enjoy the problem solving as much as you can .I am sure a serious candidate on this thread will make the mince meat of Quant section of CAT2007 and exams to follow .

Going by the VA section of Cat 2006 , it wont be a surprise , if the IIMs come up with a Quant section that would be untouchable . You cant afford to relax wrt difficulty level , so its time to be aggressive and enjoy the journey till the Taming of the beast ..

Hope u all make an active participation and lift each other's spirits and scale up the bars of competition .
