Talking Re: Question from MockCat, SimCat, Aim Cat,...... for CAT'06 - 16-11-2006, 09:58 PM

A and B are two sets (e.g) A=gals B=India. The elements that could belong to the sets (e.g. gals who are from india) is given by the set C=A.B.
D=A0B indicates belonging either to A or B or both.
D=@ means null set

Q:
Let 'V'=vertebrates
'M'=mammals
'D'=dogs
'F'=fish
'A'=alsatian
'P'=pluto,a dog

1.if P.A=@ and P0A=D,
then which is true?
a.pluto and alsatian are dogs
b.pluto is an alsatian
c.pluto is not an alsatian
d.D is a null set

2.if y=F0(D.V) is not a null set,it implies that
a.all fish are vertebrates
b.all dogs are vertebrates
c.some fish are dogs
d.none

3.if Z=(P.D)0M,then z implies
a.pluto,the dog and any other mammal
b.any dog or mammal
c.pluto or any dog that is a mammal
d.null

4.X=M.D is such that X=D which is true?
a.all dogs are mammals
b.some dogs are mammals
c.null
d.all mammals are dogs

This s a CAT 2000 Q.
I have the asnwer but completely naive to this sort of Q.
Can any 1 explain the answer?
